In all seriousness.

Do you think you have the creative and intellectual capacity to come up with an idea/company/business of your own that might guarantee you a millionaire status?

For instance, take a look at the Facebook creator. He's 26 and he's the youngest billionaire in the world.

Michael Dunlop managed to be an entrepeneur at 16 years old.

Founder of youtube is young and swimming in money too.

Don't you feel like you could become a millionaire someday? What are your prospects for life?

yup, Ive already got my path lined out, got sidetracked with unemployment this year. Hard to invest when you barely have funds for rent. But I'm working my way out of that hole now!!

No , but even if i can i wouldn't want to,too much hassle, too much greedy people want to rob you , too much unwanted attention and too much fake people to worry about.

i've known how ugly is to be filthy rich when i lived in a very poor country.

Which country was that?

You know, hassle is something omnipresent. Everyone has something to worry about.

You have to dream!

Sure... but it won't mean a lot.

Let's assume I save 10k/year and get 10% yearly growth on my money (average historical returns of my retirement fund company and the average historical returns in the S&P500 over 25 years).

Assuming everything goes perfect and I don't ever increase that 10k/year I will have a little over $1m in my retirement fund in 27 years. Currently I am 1 year behind schedule due to the economy, but based on historical trends it seems reasonable to expect to be a millionair sometimes around when I'm 50. Also, I expect raises every year for the next 27 years, which would speed up the process.

Now, will I ever be able to live a millionair's lifestyle? probably not as I don't expect to hit it big, but with proper investing I should be set for my retirement.

Yes once I get my MBBS degree I'll work hard and try to get to the Consultant level quickly (hopefully by 35).....once I'm a consultant I'd like to start a private practise along with working at the hospital!

Some of my parents friends who are doctor's and are consultants run successful private practises and they are millionaires!

But apart from the paycheck you get from the job I need other sources of income so I'm studying the stock market at the moment, mostly short stocks, I plan to start investing next year, so that'll be my 2nd year in University.

Ideally I'd like to be able to invest in Real Estate as I earn more money after getting to the pre registrar stage, possibly buy properties and give them out to rent too....this will make sure there's a cash flow coming in.

If everything goes to plan I should be a millionaire by 40! If everything exceeds expectations it could be earlier!!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

With all this story, I didn't said my situation and why I came up with this topic too:

I've done on paper and did some research on material to build it, asked for opinion with a friend of mine which has a Music Store, concluded that yes, its possible to build such a thing and I came up with a different type of musical instrument.

It doesn't use strings, wind, percussion or any other "classical"(?) method of input for musical instruments. Its just a new way to play music. Its something a little futuristic and plays in the same stance as a guitar.

I'm not willing to give details on that because, I don't know, I might have something big on my hands... or maybe not. And Copycats are everywhere.

I have it locked on my desk, waiting for an opportunity to build it alongside with someone that I can trust and be my partner on this.

I think I can, but I know it'll be especailly hard with the economy as f'd up as it is. Theoretically, in this country (America) anyone can ascend to prosperity. Supposedly, if you work hard, invest wisely, live within your means and have patience you can become a millionaire. I don't buy it. I think it's about what you can do and who you know. Sense I'm a very creative person, I'm trying to gain riches by inventing or improving something (probably something entertaining like a Graphic Novel or movie). I'd like to save up and invest, but all my money is being used to pay for college and the basic necessities (food and laundry).

Yes.

It'll be a few more years, but I will eventually be worth a million. Not too hard when you live in America, though.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Over my lifetime I should be able to accomplish that. But not being filthy rich.
