Allowing less pre-orders than actual stock is a great hype tactic...so good job to the retailers

The Wii had the same issue at launch and I do not think people were able to get one the week after because it was "in stock". So why do you assume it is a different case? Because you hate Kinect or Microsoft?

It's a common practiced tactic, and it's easy to process why...People want what they think a lot of people have, and they don't think they'll be able to find when it comes available, so they snag 'em up while they can early on when the stores "Magically" have stock.

This is not a dig at a particular company, so back off your accusations

Kinect seems to have same kind of success (maybe on smaller scale) than the Nintendo Wii. And I do not see why you reply to this thread with this kind of no-sense post. I did not pre-order the Wii and sorry to disappoint you but no "magical" stock appears at my local store the week after. And frankly I think the best comparison for Kinect launch is clearly the Wii looking at the targeted audience and how similar the launch games are...

So I won't back off anything. You should be prepared to that reply while posting that kind of thing and make sounds like it the "obvious" reason to everyone.

Kinect has not launched yet...so please, don't compare it to something that launched years ago in terms of success...And I am definitely willing to bet i'll see it in Plenty stores the week of release...Just because they're out of pre-orders does not mean they're out of stock, very different numbers.

You realize that pre-orders and stocks for a hardware piece and videogame (simple DVD/Blu-Ray, easier to mass-produce) are different right?... Very different numbers too...

Anyways. We can speculate for days before it actually comes out and who knows who's right.
For now I will go with the pre-order numbers instead of another conspiracy theory involving all retailers :) I may be wrong at the end, you may be right. Let's see.

Actually I know my kids are really excited about this (my wife too :)). On my side even if I'm going to play with them at some level. I did not find any game really appealling me. But I guess that's fine for a launch.

One thing I'm excited about is "Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor".

For sure the big controller will be missing but I'm really curious about what they do with the Kinect controller. I may end up to be something really cool.

November 4 and so on Sony fanboy will have alot of rage attacks when this baby starts outselling both Ps3 and wii combined :D

I highly doubt we'll know right away what will happen, i'd say a month of sales/eye witness data will show what true impact it will have, just like any other peripheral around...But otherwise, yeah, I highly doubt it will outsell wii this holiday, Wii is just a holiday sales beast being so low on cost and economic times.
