Huge hardware bump for the ps3 with the launch of move and amazing software sales for move-specific games.

If only NPD, chartrack and media create didn't exist , oh how wonderful things would be for the ps3. Damn these companies and their reported figures  messing things up!!!

Don't be surprised now if Sony fans make a similar comment about Kinect's launch in Japan...

kinect will do worse in japan, but kinect will do better in europe and america.

Of course I was only talking about Japan, but yeah, in America and Europe Kinect will definitely do better.

So ?? That would be a retarded thing to do , plus the bump that kinect will give to the 360 in America will shut some people up , i predict.

Sony fans are so desperate these days that nothing would be surprise me  , although i think it's best if they stick to sony's PR numbers and ignore numbers from independent trackers from now on...

Actually, Kinect should give the 360 a pretty nice hardware boost in Japan. It's sales are really, really low so that boost should easily be a few hundred percent increase! hahaha

I'm not starting a discussion with you now, because I know it's useless to argue with people like you. But let me say one thing here: You act like one of those who think that Move didn't boost any hardware at all (in the west), by looking at which console has been in 3rd place the last 6 weeks should tell you that Move is far away from being a fail.

In America it's completely different, as I said, Kinect will boost hardware significantly there.

And btw, always making fun of Sony fans doesn't actually make you look smart.

Well, I agree

It still won't be able to compete with PS3 and Wii in Japan though, which doesn't really matter because of Kinect's huge sales in the west.

I reported johnglen for his trolling.  Besides blatantly flaimbaitng, he's bringing America as a red herring into a Japan thread.

OT, the industry is not looking so great in JP right now.  Wii appears to be a five year console.  DS will probably drop a bit before the 3DS makes its way.  In general, it's bad news for me in what's going on in Japan.  It means a higher ratio of shooters to the types of games I like.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Er, Wii's problems are pretty self-contained and have little to do with Move's performance (good or bad).  One tells you about nothing about the other, so I'm not sure what your point is?

Well Ninokuni is also coming out for the DS. All I have seen in gaming stores, etc. are posters and info for the DS version. Is the PS3 version coming out at the same time?

Nope, the PS3 version is "TBA 2011".  It was also entirely absent from the recent Level-5 Vision conference, despite specifically being one of the announced games for it beforehand.

Ah, that makes sense then. I was curious as to why I hadn't seen anything, though I knew it was announced for both PS3 and DS.

I'm thinking of picking up the DS version myself. (I had no plans to pick up the PS3 version anyway)

Well, no console had a price cut this year in Japan (dunno about DS) and we are already five years into this generation, so I think sales are overall still very good, but what concerns me a bit is that Mario or Move for example didn't move any hardware. Ok, for Mario it's probably somehow logical because many already bought a Wii for New Super Mario Bros. Wii, but on the other hand it's still weird I think.

In the end I really hope that Japanese developers stick to their origins and don't westernize their games too much because of potentially higher sales.
