so about 45k move bundles based on the bundled games...

Those sales (except possibly RE5) are for both bundled and standalone SKUs.  So all we can really say is "less than about 45k" bundles.

I'm surprised theres been no PS3 hardware boost at all, even if Move didn't add numbers to hardware the white sku should have.

There was already a white PS3 available (160gb) that was released 3 months ago. The new white one was just with a 320gb hdd instead of the 160gb, for a slightly higher price of course. Whatever boost it would have received would have been negligible.

I'm aware of the previous release and though I wouldn't expect to see the same boost in numbers I would have expected there to have been at least 3-5 thousand additional units sold

The preview mislead the public, God damn bless you,man

Yeah i just read your post. I didnt know beat sketch was available standalone also. Im sure the RE one is strictly the bundle though based on the title. So looks like a pretty weak launch first week for Move in Japan.

Wow, I really think the Wii is in trouble now (in Japan). Despite the Mario Collection being a port of a very old game, it is a port that sold 300,000 first week in Japan, and yet hardware sales still decreased. I really though that the Wii would get a slight boost last week with Kirby, and another one this week with Mario, and be around 20k for the week. The red Wii bundle is the only thing the Wi really has going for it now, as I don't expect too much from DKCR or Mario Sports Mix in Japan. Also very poor second week for Kirby. It is sa that the game is looking like it will sell less thank Kirby's Air Ride did in Japan.

Move seemed to have a modest launch, it is difficult to call it one way or another from those numbers.

Don't forget that you can also buy Move without a game though, so over 45k is still possible.  I'm hoping we get an actual figure from MC or Famitsu, we did for Motion Plus iirc.

Move did pretty good, look:

08. / 00. [PS3] Beat Sketch! (SCE) - 22.165 / NEW

16. / 00. [PS3] Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition (Move Special Pack) (Capcom) - 9.399 / NEW

Those are bundles right ?

No, but they include bundles.  Well, RE5 might be (dunno if the Move version of AE is being sold on it's own) but Beat Sketch isn't.

TC Raizing Storm also has a Move bundle btw.

RE5: AE just requires an update (according to Capcom's site), to make it compatible with Move. So all of those copies sold since it released in February are able to use Move.

Beat Sketch is being sold separately, if you check out the first picture I posted here:

You can see it being sold there at the top. It's pretty cheap as well.

starcraft: "I and every PS3 fanboy alive are waiting for Versus more than FFXIII.
Me since the games were revealed, the fanboys since E3."

Skeeuk: "playstation 3 is the ultimate in gaming acceleration"

So... no boosts at all?

Yeah, but in my opinion the Japanese market would be far less likely to already have a PSEye so i think bundles are pretty a good indicator, if i HAD to guess id say just north or south of 50k people bought the move setup based on bundles.

In america and EMEAA we had eye pet and eye of judgment and i think more PSEyes so it makes it hard to figure out how many people ar epiecing together their move kits, Japan, not so much, imo.

I still havent heard confirmation on Ni No Kuni being Move enabled. Sony needs it and a hardware bundle.

Look at Beat Sketch go!

Seriously, for Japan I feel that Move simply doesn't have something to drive demand.  The Wii has sold really well and while the basline demand for the PS3 seems okay compared to the Wii/360 there just doesn't seem anything about the initial Move titles to excite the interest much.  SC is an obvious (if okay) clone of existing Wii titles and outside of that things start to get patchy fast.

I like Move potential, having bought it myself, and it just feels like something that's waiting for its ideal title at the moment.

Mind you, I did think a shiny white PS3 (which happened to have Move) might have added a bit more of a boost.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...
