Substantially there're no difference, but there're countless variations of both. Don't know what exactly do Poles prefer. Usually vareniky are stuffed with mashed potatoes/onion, cabbage and tvorog and served with butter or smetana, while pelmeni are filled with meat.

Update: Well that was quick. Over on our Facebook fan page Beatka Dudzicówna, the representative in the video left a comment that said: “Hi, I am the Polish representative and DON’T confirm it” as you can see in the screen cap below. This may have simply been a case of mis-translation.
