Forums - Sales - America's Preorder Charts (Week Ending 23rd October)

These numbers are horribly off. Even amazon.com is sold out of kinect sensors. I'm sure they had more than 3000 orders in the last week on their own.

Using that logic, the standalone Move controller must be selling by the bucketloads.  As it's sold out online at Amazon, Target, Wal-mart, Gamestop, and Toys R Us.

Kinect Adventures! from 15,292 last week to 3,641 this week?? WTF

GT5

The shortages (all I can think of) are probably to blame. That, or the pre-orders are heavily undertracked.

Could be.  I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the announcement of no advance reviews for Kinect, as I would imagine most of those who are devoted enough to gaming to pre-order a game/camera would be much more likely to visit gaming sites.  This would also explain GT5's drop.  People who want GT5 are waiting for a gold announcement, and those who want Kinect may be waiting for the official word on whether Kinect delivers or not.

It seems pretty obvious that if stores stop taking pre-orders, said pre-orders will be low.

Whos stopped taking them, though?  And was it only for last week?

well, gg Fable 3 (quite unexpected)

gg Black Ops, I knew it would be a beast outcompeting Reach on Xbox360 alone !

and, well, GT5 ... dont know what to think ...

Actually Halo Reach had about 140k more pre-orders in its 3rd week....but i do think Black Ops will sell better then Reach.

LMAO I love how people say PC FPS games are superior but...there's 2 million pre-orders for Black Ops on consoles and 40,000 on PC.

Have fun playing your superior version on the PC by yourself.

Sorry dude but pc gamers are too busy playing good fps games to even bother with CoD crap.

yeah right... Reach alone has more player than every FPS on Pc... The same for Mw2 on 360 and Ps3 alone. Pc is awesome to play FPS i still play but lets get the facts... Fps sell better on Consoles these days and Xbox Ps3 are the new FPS kings. Xbox on 1st.

So? Hamburgers outsell a lot of other kind of dishes too.

And that's what console fps gaming is- easy to get hamburger for masses.

Reach ended up with more pre-orders than MW2.

With 3 weeks until release the numbers are/were:

Reach: 1,458,990

MW2 (360): 1,438,828

BO (360): 1,344,196

It seems like BO is falling further behind as every week passes.

I didn't realize the move standalone controller was also in the top 10 in videogame sales for almost the entire week.

I'm not saying the move didn't do well, but the kinect was moving up and down with just dance 2, so I think the sales should be similar to whatever that game sold at amazon.

No Reach beat MW2 for pre-orders (it didn't sell as much FW because Halo fans pre-order much more then COD fans)

And Black Ops is tracking below Halo Reach pre-orders and I believe its a bit below MW2 pre-orders too.

Well, you're relatively new here, so I won't be a jerk.  Who am I kidding, I wouldn't be a jerk, regardless.  But after awhile here, you will learn that Amazon doesn't truly represent gaming sales as a whole.  Amazon is a relatively good sized market, but it's nothing compared to major retailers, like Wal-mart and Target.
