i dunno yet ill most probly get both, im definitely gettin the 3ds because of mgs snake eater..

That and RE had me sold on the 3DS. Only I still have one big reservation: if the 3DS only has one analog nub, it means MGS3 Snake Eater and not MGS3 Subsistence controls.

One changed feature (the free roam analog stick controlled camera) made the game an entirely different experience, from unplayable (to me) to unforgettable.

3DS still has the lower touchscreen, which I suspect will replace 2nd analog camera controls for most games.

Snake Eater 3D is the first MGS port/remake that Kojima is directing himself, I'd be surprised if it doesn't end up being the definitive version of the game.

I know that the lower touch screen adds "analog control" but seriously, it's not the same. You can't simultaneously hold and use a stylus with your right hand while pushing the right side face buttons and shoulder button.

I'm seriously disappointed with the 3DS launch games. As a gaming device id have to wait till year 2 probably before it became worth the purchase. At least with PSP2 there is a chance it would be worth buying as a multi-media device. As it is both devices might get replaced by my _cell phone_ instead.

I am a firm believer that '3D' is a useless feature that doesn't add much to the gaming experience.

The 3D feature will help the device sell. It's probably the only thing that will help it stand out enough to sell as a $300 portable.

Of course if you don't care about that feature, then that's like buying a current 3D HDTV and no glasses. Kind of a waste since the 3D feature is what makes it expensive.

As for the whole launch catalog issue; not really a big deal since you're probably not going to be able to even find one at retail price anyway for the first 6-12 months at minimum.

Not surprising. The imagination can make the strongest system ever with no weaknesses at a rock bottom price.

It also does your laundry.

And it's self aware.

I just talked myelf into wanting two. One for each hand.

Since the touchscreen is operable with a thumb, using it as a second analogue is doable.

This thread is an interesting social experiment, at the very least.

OT: I'm going for a 3DS maybe 1-1½ years after launch. I'm gonna have blue marblesballs for Kororinpa, though.

I will be buying nothing yet because I know nothing of the psp2 and  because Nintendo can go fudge themselves..............2 times

i still think there should be a both option and that it shouldnt be restricted to 2011, after all i doubt psp2 will come out before at least that holiday season. therefore we cant get a system that probably wont come out in time.

I will buy the 3DS but not next year. 2012 earliest. And I personally think this poll doesn't make sense because we barely have any PSP2 info yet. I personally don't have any reason to choose PSP2 or not choose it yet but I will either buy both or just the 3DS.

Where is the both option?

exactly

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

I'm buying both, hopefully. If the battery life on the PSP2 is bad then I probably won't get it, or if the software for it is shit then I won't either. The 3DS though is made by Nintendo so it's practically a given that the battery life and software will be great. Mario Kart, Pokemon and Resident Evil may tide me over for a couple of years.
