Michael Denny, Sony's VP of Worldwide Studios Europe, has said that PS3 developers have now begun to unlock the true potential of the system.

In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine Denny praised upcoming third-party games - but said that it is the network of in-house talent that is producing the games that truly shine on the PS3.

"A big philosophy behind forming Worldwide Studios is that we can have a network of key first-party developers who are able to share ideas, best practice, thoughts - creatively and otherwise." said Denny.

Denny illustrated his point by pointing out the relationship between Sucker Punch and Naughty Dog, two of the console's biggest developers.

"I think the success of these studios is that a lot of them retain their independent views and creativity but lean on each other for support,"

According to the Sony boss the PS3 still has a lot more to offer, not only in untapped potential but also in the form of Move and 3D gaming.

"What's exciting is that we're five years into PS3 and developers are really starting to push PlayStation to its full potential... Then you later on top of that Move launching, then you layer onto that the potential of 3D." said Denny.

"It's exiting times to be involved in PlayStation" he added.

survey of US consumers conducted by Lazard Capital Markets has revealed that interest in PlayStation Move is high.

Hitting the potential and pushing for it is different

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

There is know doubt that PS3 has a lot more to give. It is a much more complex system than the PS2 and we still saw major improvements in PS2 games up to 7 years after launch with God of War 2, Gran Turismo 4, and Final Fantasy 12. I think before things are said and done we will see 3D very fleashed out on the system, and the best dves will put the likes of Uncharted 2 and God of War 3 to shame.

I have had PS3 since launch, but to me it feels like it is only in its second year. It has some much left to give, it is simply astounding. In all reality the potential of both PS3 and 360 is so great that we will never see both systems reach their limits. Software can always do more.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

I totally agree with that.  The PS3 is only in it's 5th year, and while the potential is really starting to show with games coming onto the market, there will be games coming out in the next year or two that will blow people away.  I've personally never even looked at the killzone series before, but somebody mentioned the pre-alpha footage looks absolutely amazing for KZ3...so this kind of shows that.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

The PS2 was pushed to it's limits many years after it's release.  I can't wait to see that in about two years on PS3.  I'm pretty sure Shadow of the Colossus pretty much pushed PS2 to the brink of performance.

Well, I hope the PS3 one looks good then (including the ICO collection), because as much as I thought I would never buy that game, with the hype that so many people give it, maybe I will give it a try.

Not enough potential, want more.
