Forums - Gaming - Is this your last Gen?

I'm 23, been gaming since I was 5. I love gaming and it will always hold a special place in my heart. However I feel like this will be my last foray into the gaming realm. I most likely won't participate in any of the companies next gen consoles. I come to this conclusion due to the lack of time I currently spend playing games now, games I like in which I don't like the direction they are going in, games I used to think was cannot even play, and that their are so few games that get me extremely hyped anymore. I was wondering, is anyone else feeling this way. Is anyone else feeling all gamed out? This all could be hogwash, perhaps It's just because I haven't played a great game in a while but that's the conclusion I'm at right now. Am I alone?

I never even look at a single article about the 3DS. I never really been into handhelds I guess.

I think that you should at least look around for a bit of information on the 3DS before counting out next gen entirely :p

Well that's my point though. I'm sure next gen will be excellent just like this gen was and is. However it's my will as a gamer in question, not just the quality of games out there. All the factors in the original post have led me to this place. However you have succedded in making me interested Ill give it a look right now

I think it might just be. I also started playing when I was 5 close to 25 now and have little time for them. And I am a bit disapointed in todays games and industry overall ( I don´t know but something is missing and I just dont like shooters or at least dont love them, since I was raised in the platformer era and really love those, also crash bandicoot has been ruined :( and that was just too much for me)

On the other hand, me being a huge mario fan I think I might buy nintendo´s next console if they can make a game in the quality of galazy 1 & 2. if not I think I´ll pass.

edit: Dont get me wrong. I don´t think next gen will be any bad quality wise, but I dont see myself playing most of them. I´m not a huge online fan either. I´ve always had more fun having friends over and play than online. I guess I´m a bit old fanished in that regard :p

It's time for you to move on.

When you get older there are more important things life and gaming does have to take a backseat.

No, the need to play Zelda and Metroid is to big
