Forums - General - America ignored Iraqi torture

I can't stand wikileaks,if this puts the life of soilders at risk, then I'm not for this. war is'nt pretty, collertal damage happens in every war, they can do everything possible to prevent it,but it's still going to happen, unfortunate as it is.

C'mon. Stuff like this is common for the US. I mean, this country was pretty much founded after Europeans came into the land and killed off all the natives.

- US kills of and displaces Natives

- US attacks and invades Mexico

- US drops not one, but two atomic bombs in Japan.

- US funds the dictatorship in El Salvador that went around killing innocents. US of course claimed no such thing and even didn't give Salvadoran refugees temporary citizenship until much later.

- US invades Iraq, gets rid of Saddam, then stays to steal the oil and resources with the excuse of "weapons of mass destruction."

- US is continuing the same BS in Afghanistan. Remember those 33 miners who were saved? Yeah, that machinery was made from resources found only in Afghanistan.

Not only that, but the US is responsible for the birth of the Taliban because they aided Afghanistan in the Cold War only so that the Soviets would face defeat there. Once the Soviets left Afghanistan, the US practically left Afghanistan wrecked with destruction without any support for rebuilding the nation. This led to angered citizens because they knew that the US used them to defeat the USSR, and to the eventual birth of the Taliban. And now the US is busy going "oops" and killing off thousands of innocents because of the idiotic and selfish moves they made.

i don't understand what your point is,what country that is dominant on the world stage has/would do anything different, what were the russians doing themselves

plenty of govts and their military kill uneccessarily around the world, its a power game world politics

why would the west give up their power and dominance?

the japanese attacked hawaii,silly mistake

ask the chinese or any other country the japanese occupied how they feel about it

It will not have the effects the US thinks.

However, it will show more evidence of why is the most hated country in the world. Thy worked really hard to deserve it

Most hated country in the world.... whoa that's some good hyperbole.

Top 3 actually goes

1) Iran,

2) Pakistan

3) Israel

why do people always say the usa is the most hated country in the world and what does that even mean,i never understand that

i like the usa and i'm not from america,i guess i'm in the minority, lol

Same here. I'm from Canada and I love the USA. If I wasn't Canadian I'd want to be...well Russian, but after that I'd pick American.

And they should also be transparent about it, which is what Wikileaks is doing for them.

You can see why they didn't though, as there have already been quotes by Iraqi government officials about this actually causing the Iraqi's new government to lose a lot of cohesiviness at a time where things were already shakey.

Wikileaks may actually break Iraq as a country.

I think that'd be a first for the internet.

Who cares about torture really. If Jack Bauer never tortured anyone Los Angeles would have been nuked in season 2.

Thats the problem with everything being leaked at once, that shouldn't have happened because it should have been released as the war went on.

Also the Iraqi government isn't shakey, it's broken. Its been something like a year since there were elections and a government still hasn't formed.

Sorry to sound uncaring, but torture and coverups in war?

Who would have thunk it?

Iraqis tortured other Iraqis but people concentrate their blaim on America?

The liberal world is insane.
