Forums - PC - Microsoft's Windows 7 is fastest-selling operating system ever

I know right, they had such a good sales plan.  Make Vista completely suck and make everyone totally annoyed by it and so they begrudgingly buy Windows 7.  Reminds me of when Cingular bought AT&T and made it so that the people with AT&T had horrible service after the buyout so that we had to migrate over to AT&Tingular. I hate those bastards.

This is why I don't buy anything Microsoft related. Period! Because this rather crazy theory actually makes sense when it comes to Microsoft and their practices. With the fear of being banned (as usual), I'll stop right here.... lol... However, I DO recognize that Win7 is actually a good OS. Will I ever buy it? Hell no.

OH, and yes, Ubuntu [THUMBS UP]!!!

Around the Network

Windows 7 is a great operating system. I run it on my PC, and in Parallels on my Mac. It's not the best OS however, that still is OSX or some of the other Unix/Linux flavors, like Ubuntu.

The reason there sales are so high, is corporate sales. Millions of companies are still on XP. They skipped Vista, and now that 7 is out, they all upgraded there volume licenses.

I think the best thing about Windows 7 being so good, is we can stop with the fanboy BS now, and just use whatever OS we like. The days of having to defend a piss poor product (thus hearing the wrath of the community) are over.

It deserves the sales too.  Windows 7 is a great product.

Still should have been released as a SP update to Vista (or they just should have skipped the Vista generation)

I read this on CNNMoney.

Do they have a breakdown of corporate/consumer sales?

That doesn't make any sense at all. Vista being terrible only made people stick with XP. There were no benefits for MS, and there's no way that was the plan.
