Super Mario World

Around the Network

i've beaten alot of games without cheats but only one with cheats and one looking up the answer and they are GTA san an dreaous and RE:5

My first console game:either nintendo world cup or super mario bros...can't remember which one I finished first.Since you mentioned monkey Island,I'll name the first adventure game I finished as well: King's Quest, and I'm still proud of it :)

Every game I beat on Atari 2600 was cheat-free.

But with no Internet/Guides, I had no choice. Those were the good times.

I don't remember many atari 2600 games that actually had an ending. I do remember playing defender for like 12 straight hours before I had to leave the house once. I don't think I ever played it again for more than 5 minutes. Also, in Pitfall you could just stand still and beat the game.

I think my first was haunted house on the atari, but on the really easy mode lol

Yup, which is why I didn't say " I beat every game on Atari 2600 cheat-free". Ones I remember were:

Front Line
E.T. (yea)
Kangaroo
River Raid I think, I believe it just started over once you got passed a certain phase.
Donkey Kong Jr.
Armor Ambush

There were a couple others but I can't remember. But yea, there were limited games that actually had an ending.

well, it would have had to be from my NES collection so I'm going with one of these (I was 5 when I got the NES) in order from most likely to least.

The Legend of Zelda
Bubble Bobble
Super Mario Bros.
Contra

The rest I didn't beat until I was much older (if I ever beat them).

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Pitfall 2

They didn't have cheats back in those days.  I also had to change the channels on the television by actually going up to it and turning a knob.

Mine would be ninja gaiden 1 on the NES, don't even think that there is a cheat for this game

Something on the NES, but I have no idea what.  Probably Donkey Kong because it's so short.  Or maybe Super Mario Bros.  But everything I beat on the NES, SNES, Game Boy, Genesis, PC, and Nintendo 64 would have been without cheats.  I don't really cheat now either though, maybe just for 5% of games if they're so frustrating they get to the point where solving a puzzle isn't exciting anymore.
