Yep after 10 years. it's time for a new bundle for the good old PS2, its being bundled with the Toy Story 3 game.  $99 in the USA.

lol that's great. I wonder how much of a boost it would actually give for the holidays. Seems to me Sony is trying to get 1 more successful holiday season out of the PS2 before they stop supporting it.

It'll be a while before they stop supporting it. Even if it's selling just 20-25K world wide each week for a while, those are still significant figures and bring in not only revenue but profit. Then there's software to consider. It makes sense to support for a quite a few more years but simply on a smaller scale. If I'm not mistaken, the snes wasn't discontinued until 2003 and it was first released in 1990. PS2 is selling at a much better sales curve than the SNES so one would expect it to last longer than the SNES' 13 years if anything.

okay, Moneywise, its a good one for Sony. BUT if they manage to screw this Christmas up, theyre fools. they should bundle LBP and MGS for 299$, or Move for 299$. Go Sony, do it. loose a bit of Money to increase your damn Christmas sales.

last week, toys r us (canada) had a sale for ps2's for 60bucks. It sounded like such a good deal I wanted to go buy one just for the sake of being able to buy a ps2 for 60 dollars lol. But alas i have so many ps3 games to buy.

I actully think they should bring out a limited eidition MGS4 bundle, i mean a lot of people probabily didnt get it when it was out because they didnt have a PS3, trophy support would improve sales of the game as well. and i think Konami owe it to themselves, releasing exlusive for the PS3 at a critical time was probabily not the best thing for the series, but i think a lot of people would use it as an oppertunity to get the bundle if it was made avaliable, esp with 3D and Move.

anyway i don't see why they'd bundle the ps3 with a game that i bought last xmas for 15 bucks. where's the deal? if there was a package of games, maybe, but even then. then you have a bunch of cheap games, half of which ppl may not want.
and if they were to add any sorta trophy/3d/move support, we'd all be getting it through a new patch. they wouldn't force you to buy the game again

The PS2 will die when PS4 launches.
