NBA Jam On 360/PS3 Listed For $49.99

GameStop today listed the Xbox 360 and PS3 version of NBA Jam for $49.99 with a street date of Nov. 16. The game will feature all of the content available in the just-released Wii version, plus online multiplayer.

NBA Jam on the Xbox 360 and PS3 was originally to have been a free downloadable game packaged with NBA Elite 11, the professional basketball sim that EA Sports indefinitely delayed on Sept. 27, a week before the game was due to release. The downloadable version would have lacked the Wii version's "Remix Tour" mode at launch, though there was an indication EA Sports planned to make it available later as additional downloadable content.

The Xbox 360 and PS3 version had always planned on incorporating online multiplayer, which the Wii version does not support. The GameStop listing says Remix Tour games in the 360 and PS3 version will be playable cooperatively online.

Once NBA Elite 11 was delayed, EA Sports president Peter Moore said it would be <a href="uncoupled from NBA Jam, and that Jam would then hit store shelves by the holiday shopping season. The $49.99 price, the same as NBA Jam's Wii version, is not unexpected, though some had anticipated it could have been a full $59.99 title as EA Sports moved to recoup its losses from a holiday season without Elite.

The listing is on GameStop's web site. A call to a local GameStop confirmed it is taking preorders for the game at the retail price and street date listed online.

An email to EA Sports Canada, where NBA Jam is made, was not answered as of publication time.

Interesting, but equitable. We feared a $15 version of the game that was overall more fully-featured than the Wii version

But given initial sales of this game, it seems like few people care.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

As a Wii/HD owner I have been waiting to see how this would pan out. The HD versions are superior so they have my money. Im sure many people in my position feel the same. Just more fuel for devs to say that hardcore(though this game is casual) games dont sell on Wii.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

that would be one of the most expensive game on PSN or XBLM

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

I can see why no one was buying this on Wii. this is kinda messed up, no online for Wii and same price????

so much fail

They're melting down about this over on Joystiq. So many people pissed that they have to pay full price if they want it.

Really, EA has done everything they possibly could to sabotage this, up to and including releasing it with zero fanfare when it actually came around. Where are the ads, where are the tie-ins with professional athletes like Madden gets? Why have i not seen Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James playing this game on a commercial somewhere?

It's a travesty, but it's kinda funny to watch

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I dont go down the path of "no ads" thing but this is a game that could absoluetly used some advertisment, unless they are waiting till it gets close to its Hd  release, i mean they are really putting this game out to die releasing so close to COD

Whoa. Totally wrong thread. Thought this was the Bethesda thread

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I wouldnt pay that much for this game. I saved 20 $ on PSN to buy it as it was announced for 16,99 $ earlier. The listed price is a ripoff,no go for me until it goes down to what it should be for a PSN game.
