Check out Gamestop/EBGames (same company) for Gran Turismo 5:

http://www.ebgames.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=75118

They are saying January 1, 2011 Gran Turismo 5 ships.  What does this mean?  Is there any chance now it hits before 2010, or does that mean now "Sometime in 2011"?

Gamestop always sets dates to day one of any month when they don't have much else. I see it as being the first day following the end of Q4 which is the period they are expecting the game to release. Like Zelda Skyward Sword was set for April 1st 2011 when it got a Q1 release date, and many games set to release November 1 when they were expected sometime in October.

sony said it would be released in 2010, so as of now its definitely a place holder.  they dont want to set it too early and get people angry at them so they set it back as far as they can

So that means GT5 is likely sometime in December?

It is generally a placeholder for TBA 2011. I doubt Sony would blow it this hard this holiday season, so I would not worry.



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Polyphony said it was delayed until SOMETIME this holiday season. Gamestop put Jan 1st as a placeholder since its technically midnight of the last day of the holiday season.
