What was the "innovative" software that nintendo provided ?? Metroid prime 3, mario kart or NSMB ?? Wii Fit ??

You forgot to say the biggest system seller ever... Wii Sports.

Wii Sports is a sports compilation, i.e. a different form of mini-game compilation. The difference between it and (most) past games of it's type is that the Wiimote could be used for each individual activity, rather then having to buy many seperate peripherals. There have been sports games prior that have used peripherals.

As a game, Wii Sports may be addictive, but innovative it is not so much. Assuming "innovation" is being used in the sense that it is doing something previously not seen or done before.

Well, can you tell us something that has one remote (with motion controls) do all kinds of different sports and minigames, if it's not innovative?

No i didn't. Here's what i replied to  "Nintendo provided new innovative software for the Wii, numerous times. Thus making it keep going so well, for so long. "

Were you reffering to a launch game when talking about how nintendo managed to provide innovative software numerous times to keep the wii going for so long ??

to add to those ebay sales,

I talked with a guy in the UK about kinect he had listed.

At 140 pounds, he would be making a loss.

141 pounds: 9 sold

170 pounds plus shipping: 0 sold

200 pounds: 0 sold

Would ya look at that.

Where as I do not doubt some places are totally out of stock others are getting additional allocations. I can only think that if those sales are UK sales then it can only be for bragging rights assuming it actually makes landfall before the UK release.

I am not surprised the other guy selling them at a cheaper price is not having his door knocked door he just does not have enough credit to make a risky purchase like this via ebay.

That would be the innovation of the Wii, not the game. Otherwise, practically every half decent game that ever came out on the Wii would be incredibly innovative.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Well, I guess if you want to get too technical, then yeah Carl should have worded things better.

Untill we know first ship, ents this is kinda useless. With that been said though all the pre-orders been taken up is encouraging.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

We can't really have an idea on how many they've sold if we don't know how many they plan on doing for first shipment...Seems kind of pointless to make a thread like this before actually seeing them on shelves

Just waiting for that PS Vita to come out so I can play some full featured games on the go with that beautiful screen and control scheme...

Agreed.  If Microsoft was waiting until the last minute to finalize the hardware and shipping firmware in the device, they may only have a million or two available on launch world-wide.  The key to sales will be after launch when the product is shipping 1-2 million per month afterwards...  Will sales sustain or drop like a rock?

Also, we have to pay attention to what is sold out.  It is just the device w/Adventures itself and not the console bundles.  Microsoft may have shipped low numbers of the device and higher numbers of bundles.  This would make sense given the demographic of consumer they are trying to hit (Casual gamer that doesn't have a 360 yet).  If this is true, sales may be substantially lower for just Kinect then people think, but we may see some sort of rise in 360's sold on launch week.

lol, that guy is actually in the states.

The reason why fewer people are buying from his listing is because in the states it isn't sold out, and in the UK the shipping fee is 50-60$, with import tax on top of it.

oh good news then for Kinect :)
