the games on wiiware are limited to 50MB, and i am sure beyond good and evil is way more than 50MB

This explains SC5, Oddworld and BG&E, but Konami's X-Men arcade game is a whopping 4.05MB...

Actually, I always thought BG&E would've made a nice retail release for Wii.  Same for SC5 1&2.

Is Oddworld really bigger than 50 MB? I mean, surely the HD version might be, but I don't know about the old PC version for example... without the cutscenes of course.

WiiWare is a great place for little indy games bu dont expect to see many ports of older games, plus I think Nintendo wants those only on VC

@severance it was used as slang

@jarrod i definately agree with you on this SC 5 just screams Wii audience, im surprised Sega hasnt capitilized on the Just Dance craze and make a new retail SC 5 game

How big is Scott Pilgrim, I always expected that to come out on WiiWare?

Yeah, pretty much.  If X-Men were to come to Wii, it'd be on the Virtual Console.

Cave Story and La Mulana alone have vindicated WiiWare for me though.  Also, stuff like Skip's Art Style games and MegaMan 9-10.

Considering how referential the series is of Nintendo games specifically, I'm surprised it wasn't on WiiWare.  Or hell, even a retail DS release maybe.

WiiWare has a lot of good and even great offerings that were not limited by the space cap.  Lost Winds 1 and 2 were awesome, World of Goo, Sonic 4, Furry Legends, Final Fantasy CC.  Those are just a few I could think of off the cuff.

What do you need WiiWare for if you have VC?
