I really love Studio Ghibli movies! They are amazing and I cry almost every time! However, one of the main reasons I got into Ghibli was because of Joe Hisaishi. His music is so amazing.
My first film was Tonari no Totoro and since then I have seen all of them multiple times. My favourites are: Mononoke Hime, Nausicaä and Sen to Chihiro (Spirited Away) and of course Laputa.. and Howl's Moving Castle... and Ponyo... Basically all of them, including the ones directed by Takahata Isao.
Princess Mononoke was my first Ghibli movie and it blew me away.
I love Miyazaki's obsession with planes, airships and flying in general (Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, Porco Rosso, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle) and the ambivalence and subtelty of stories and characters in his movies (Lady Eboshi and the Iron Town in Mononoke, to name just one of many examples).

While I really liked the films I saw before (Spirited Away, Porco Rosso and Princess Mononoke). It was Grave of the Fireflies that really made my love Studio Ghibli, to this day it remains one of my favourite films ever made.

all awesome and Hotaru no Haka (Grave of the Fireflies) is one of the best anti war films ever.

I can't recall specifically what my first Studio Ghibli film was, but they are all pretty amazing, there just aren't any other films that present that kind of atmosphere out there.
Let's put it this way, Pixar = The West's Studio Ghibli, and I love Pixar, so...
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
Tonari no Totoro.

And now my favorites are probably Totoro, Nausicaa, and Laputa.
Contributing with nothing relevant:
Laputa = la puta = the ho in spanish
