Tons of positive Kinect news and yet this thread has the most replies.

Change Vgchartz, change fast.

Well that's just normal, the speculative threads allways get the most posts.

@Legend11 - Umm...No one has reviewed it yet, even though it's about to be released. The thread still stands until we see some reviews before the release date. :)

This. The most we saw are previews, not in-depth reviews. If MS manages to avoid the latter until release date, the thread stands true forever.

1 week before the kinect release, and IGN is unboxing their review kinect. Came with 5 games to review.

And just like that, rumour turns to bollocks.

But we all knew it was anyway :)

So where is their review? Nowhere, that's where. He didn't even say when they would review it.

Exactly.  The reviews probably won't be in until after Kinect launches.  This is not how the review system should work.  It gives companies too much influence over something they should have no business in, except providing review copies.  I also find it strange the guy suggests going out and buying Kinect during an unboxing vid, without IGN even doing a review for it to see if it's any good.

@ thranx

You know, you may be turning me around.  In fact, your right.  There should be no reviews at all.  They only harm the companies that make games by hurting the good vibe about the game.  I mean who cares if the game turns out to be crap or broken, people should have to buy it first to find out.  So you hear that VGC?  Time to get rid of gamrReview.  You're only hurting companies.  We should only listen to celebrities that the gaming companies pay to say their product is good.

Oh please....you talk like Microsoft are the only people to do review embargos..

When should they have the reviews out, 3 months before release?

Most things these day's have the reviews out the day before the release of the item. Seeing as in UK there is still over 2 weeks to go until release i don't see the problem? Move didn't have its embargo lifted until the 1st of september, like 5 days before launch, did you bitch about Sony doing that? I doubt it.

Another anti-Kinect thread that is now no longer true.  When will people learn to just wait until Kinect is released instead of jumping to incorrect conclusions?

More to the point when will the mods start banning the constant trolling in Kinect threads by the same users.  They really aren't hard to identify.

Exactly, perhaps every game system can be on display to play before you buy, like kinect is. Perhaps everygame should be in a store so you can try the full version yourself before you buy it, to see what its like. I hate MS for giving me chance to try something for myself with my own hands with the full version. I hate how they are trying to hide all of the flaws by letting me use it as is and with out some sort of keyed in demo. Darn them. Can't wait to read what some person I have never met has to say about kinect though. I am sure they know what is more fun for me.

"However, CVG understands that the review was based on a hands-on with the kit orchestrated by Microsoft, rather than an exhaustive product test".

So, not yet. :/

It is an interesting read that. So the guy based his review on spending hours with the game with the hardware at a preview day. It clearly says he put a serious chunk of time in playing the thing, even so much as to say he went further and looked into the mathamatics of how it all works. So seems like the reviewer knows what he is doing.

Another interesting thing from that report was this line "Kinect review write-ups - including CVG's - are expected to be published next week".

So when is a review not a review when it is a positive one. Just kidding but when I first read this and then found the CVG rebuttal I knew this was coming.

Anyway the "review" is now a "preview" how you correct this once a paper has hit the streets is anybodies guess.

Two days left to American launch and still no in-depth reviews. But while paper magazines won't be in time to publish reviews before European launch, online ones will be.
