2 Weeks to launch! I guess this is where the marketing starts ..

QFT
And ten thousand vocal haters just had jaws hit the floor.
Soon they will be scrambling to pick this apart as best they can, but it will ring hollow because all know what this means.
MS knows what they're doing. They had a plan and are executing it with the precision of an assassin.

Does this make you happy?
Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

By all means NO. Happiness is derived from things much more substantial than this.
But I DO like the direction that a successful Kinect takes us. In my mind and many others, the holy grail of interactive entertainment and education is a Holodeck interface. Its less invasive than mind trips (sorry, Total Recall ruined that for me) and probably less addictive. But Kinect is the next step in that direction and will finally give developers something else to focus on other than incremental improvements on what we already have. To do that, you buy in from the largest demo out there first and its not us. They already have us with controllers and they'll definitely keep us satiated. It'll take time and effort for devs to win US over with Kinect. But by then, the mainstream could already be impressed enough to see what the next level of Kinect game is like. Its about gradual growth initiated by a strong catalyst.
I know that's not the usual response you see here, but I'm trying, man. Sorry if my initial comment didn't make that clear enough.

ah gotcha. thanks.
I want to see Oprah using it. Where's the video. My wife DVRs Ellen, so I'll watch her episode to see it in its use. If it sucks, Ellen will be truthful and make it mess up on purpose. :) However, if it works well, that will also be demonstrated.
So, what I'm really trying to say is....
Well I'm sure my aunt will pre-order it now. Oprah is her goddess.
