I'll get back into this but honestly, I was kind of bored at about 4 hours. I'm sure it picks up once you hit The Strip but the countryside seems almost devoid of life and you can walk for 10 mins in a random direction and see absolutely nothing. It's almost like a desert or something!. I've read comments like that about ESIV and never understood them but virtual Nevada can seem pretty sparse on first impressions.
Had one glitch despite loading to HD, backed up on a rock while shooting coyotes and got that jumping animation that wouldn't stop. Cost me 15 mins. An npc flickered in and out of existence and my PC does the same near cliff walls. I play in third-person mode obviously. On a related note I was wondering what the fuss was about the 'iron sights' returning from Fallout 2 but they only work in fps anyway. Not sure if I like gaining Bad Karma from defending one faction from another. After the initial decision I'm just defending myself but end up as a renegade. No biggie, I'll rescue some nuns or hookers or something.
I won't deliver my usual diatribe on reviewers but I have the impression there are way too many agendas out there, some seem to have reached a point where every year in the business makes them more jaded, cynical and biased. Playing a game to a deadline must suck though and sleep deprivation wouldn't enhance the experience. As usual teh interwebz are turning speed bumps into Himalayas.
