Forums - Sales - NA Pre-Orders UP (Week Ending 16th October)

Geez... Fable could do a million week 1. I'm a bit puzzled as there doesn't seem to be any hype and Microsoft is being tight-lipped on the details, If we didn't have this chart I'd be certain it's being sent out to die while they focus on the Kinect launch.

New Vegas preorders > Fallout 3 first week so Bethesda will be happy with that.

They release regular trailers and interviews.  You just have to be keen to find them.

The feature-set is insane, the cast is even better and the concept is amazing.  The game is selling itself  with limited advertising and it isn't even out yet.

starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS

Around the Network

It can't be all about marketing.  Fable 3 is doing well maybe cause people expect it to be a great game.  I, for one, am planning to get it although I've never played Fable and fable 2.

and maybe people are not as excited about GT5.

If it is about marketing, then Sony should fire whoever is in charge and hire people who will do a better job.

So to sum things up:

- Black Ops is going to be fucking huge

- New Vegas will have a VERY nice opening week, much better than Fallout 3

- Fable 3 is going to be huge (1 million first week WW?)

- GT5 is slacking like a bitch in America, pick up the advertising Sony! It will be big in Japan and EMEAA though.

- AC Brotherhood will be solid

Just 3 days until release and EA Sports MMA isn't even on the top 30. I thought the game would get some attention due to the EA Sports brand but I guess not. It seems like only hardcore mixed martial arts fans are going to play it. Going to rent it this week. Vanquish isn't on the list either. Ouch. It seems like everyone is getting Fallout: New Vegas this week.

UFC didn't set the charts on fire this year, check this Vs this. Maybe MMA fans aren't interested in getting an annual game.

That's definitely true. UFC Undisputed 2010 was a bomb compared to 2009. But UFC Undisputed 2010 still made it far up the pre-order list while EA Sports MMA can't even make the top 30. A shocker since I thought the EA brand would have helped it out despite the lack of UFC branding. The lack of UFC branding might have something to do with it or maybe gamers didn't like the demo. But it could just simply be that MMA fans are sick of MMA videogames. UFC in 2009. UFC in 2010. And now another MMA game coming out 5 months after UFC Undisputed 2010. As a big MMA fan (though I don't follow it as much anymore) I'm looking forward to seeing EA's take on the genre. I played the demo a bit but didn't play enough of it to really experiment with the game mechanics. I am not impressed with UFC Undisputed 2010's performance. Game felt old hat just a year after 2009. That franchise needs to cook in the oven until 2012.
