Or are they dead now that Cing bankrupted?

I only had 2 gripes with the controls

1) the formations suck and cause all sorts of problems while walking around the world

2) forming a royal guard is a pain in the butt up until you get the super awesome pedastal that lets you pick individual people. But, it would have been nice if they improved the other features so you could call say 2 types of workers and not lose them.

I heard a lot of good things about this game. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of what it's like and if based on my game collection(listed in my signature), whether or not I would enjoy it. :3

Think Pikmin without having to carry objects back to your base and that pretty much sums up LKS in the least amount of words. If you liked Pikmin you'll probably like LKS.

You, as the king, build your kingdom and conqure the world. You earn money by doing quests and spend the money on training adults and building new buildings (unlocking more citizens, jobs, and other things).

Much like pikmin, you select a group of citizens to follow you around (at first you can only select like 5, and with upgrades you can select up to 30). Each job type provides different special skills. You press A to send your citizens to go perform tasks or attack UMAs (bad guys).

There are 7 kings and a lot of guardians. You expand your kingdom by defeating the kings and guardians. The core gameplay is doing attack quests against basic UMA, but there is plenty of variaty when it comes to defeating kings and guardians.

General questing gameplay is a lot like Pikmin. You use people from your Kingdom to be your guard who follow you as you explore the world. You use your troops to fight monsters, destroy obstacles, build bridges, and collect goodies.

The Kingdom Mangment part is like a linear version of FFCC: My Life As A King. You use rescoures to create more buildings, train your people in different classes (Soldier, Farmer, Archer, Etc.), and build up your Kingdom. It's linear, unlike MLAAK, in that there is only so many buildings that can be built, and you don't decide where they go. So once you've aquired every structure there isn't any left to do City-Building wise.

There's also some minor RPG and Adventure elements. You can find weapons and armor and give them to troops to make them stronger, and the general idea is to conquer the world and the 7 other strange kings who currently rule different parts of it.

I think the comparisons with Pikmin fall apart at multitasking. Either I was doing something wrong, or you really can't leave a group of subjects alone to a task. Each time I walked 2-3 screens away, they'd drop everything and catch up with me. I found this incredibly frustrating, since the task would often reset.

True when you walk away too far. But helps when some of your followers got stuck at a staircase ;)

^^ ugh, that staircase was annoying with larger groups. It took me a while to figure out that i should just change the group formation.

i got a little bored around half way through

you can multitask, just not on opposite sides of the world. The big reason for multitasking in Pikmin is typically because you can have one group returning spoils while another group destroys the next wall in your path. In LKS multitasking isn't as important in LKS as time isn't essential, nor do you have to have workers carry things back to your base.
