Forums - Sony - Mag with Move

So I recently tried the move controller with mag and I will say its pretty frustrating. The one bonus is you can collaborate the controller any time you wanna really change your position. I tried the game for about 5 minutes standing up then I slouched back in my seat, the whole re-collaborating sequence took about 20 seconds.

Now onto the actually experience, it was definitely a no go for me. I spent about 20 mins adjusting the sensitivity trying to find a setting that work but the the whole time I always found myself one second to late when it came to a gun fight. not because the lag because basically there is non, its how fast it moves that is the problem. Holding the nav controller with the move felt surprisingly natural. But when I would use the controller to snipe, zoomed down the scope, the reticle had alot of bounce. I know you have to be steady but It took me about 10 mins just to hit someone. i'm not sure if its Mag with the way the game handles or the move itself but I just couldn't get into it.

I wouldn't recommend anyone play MAG with the Move, Not only do I not see an advantage, but it actually felt as if i was handicapped at time. I'm going to give it another spin and toggle with the settings a little more to see if there is any change but after 20 mins of trail and error I seen no real improvement from the preset settings.

Sounds like another fail for motion controls.   I recently tried the Move at a retail store, I played Ping pong and the sword battle and found it unplayable.  The onscreen animations depicting what i should be doing and the move itself seemed very akward and broken at best.  It seemed to have the exact same problems the wii has.

I wouldn't say that.. I had no problems with the controls on the games in sports championship, did the game re-calibrate when you grabbed the move? I think it could work..just not for MAG I have higher hopes for killzone 3 when it comes to FPS with the MAG.

Sony should talk to High Voltage software for some pointer FPS control lessons.

At least those guys are pretty good at that.

no that's not true, either your controller was out of calibration (not calibrated correctly), or you was just doing it all wrong on gladiators as i know that is gesture based, table tenis is 1:1 and it takes time to get used to if, you was watching the characters, you was doing it all wrong, focus on the ball and you may find it easier to hit after you have tossed the ball, the animations are fine.

if you was hitting it like you use a wiimote that is where you was going wrong btw, you have to do the proper move as you would in real life, follow it through, no wrist flicking, i have got up to gold on table tennis itself, not to mention many others on here have said it can be a little tricky to get used to, but that is because it's so precise, you have to improve upon your own abilieites to be able to play on this game, wheras wiimote is easy and under precise

@FF fanatic   i couldnt agree more I was so use to using Wiimote that I was screwing up table tennis in SPorts champions hard.  I finally realized oh s*** this Move thing aint playing I really have to play table tennis

might check it out too bad i have deleted my account to try other factions so i will have to build from nothing.

@mchaza  its madness, im convinced that all those people hating on it have never played it. Wiimote was alright for the time and introduced this whole concept props to Ninty, but Move really did take it to that next level, i love when my onscreen avatar does what I want when I want
