it also wouldnt hurt if Ninty took its online a bit more seriously because I dont know what the hell is going on with WIiWare and why DSIWare is better

| oniyide said: @savior x you got a point but to be fair they have flops on all kinda platforms the diff. between Wii and HDs is that they can at least get a hit on HD consoles. I think I can count on one hand how much core games that was made by a 3rd party that did gread numbers that was released in the past two years @lordtheknight but dont you see thats what they have been doing??? who do you think the carnival games, biggest loser, all those shovelware games are for??? When it comes to Wii the casual audience is much higher. lets be real here if Just Dance cost less to make than say a Final Fantasy game and it sells more than said FF game. YOu would be crazy not to do Just Dance on Wii. I think some core Wii gamers just have to accept that the Wii is not like the HD consoles, it was not supposed to be. At this late stage in the game there are 2 things a Wii gamer can do. Put their Ninty dogma away and just buy a damn console that has more quality 3rd party support or convince the million of casuals to stop buying Just Dances and WiiWhatever and buy more MUramasa, Red Steel, etc. I think the 1st choice is easier |
Why should the Wii owners have to do something? That is still implying we are beholden to the third parties to buy their games for the system they want us to buy. F*** them for thinking they can force us to buy another system.

@LordtheKnight your not getting it. When Wii was first released we all knew how it would play out, Ninty themselves said that they wanted it to be different from the HD consoles. It is very different, it gets completly different kind of games that the HD guys do. The primary audience for Wii is more family oriented and isnt that whats been released for the past couple of years. The Wii only core gamer is in the super minority so why would a company cater to this very small crowd and ignore the larger family user base. MY problem is with the Wii fans who are still crying to this day. You cant have your cake and eat it too. You wanted an new gaming experience and you didnt want to pay all that money for a "next gen" console, but you want the more traditional games that are on HD consoles. I bought a Wii for the very reasons I listed, and the only thing that im mad about is the crappy and overpriced VC IMHO Wii delivered everything else.

What makes you think that this applies just to Wii only core gamers? You really think having other systems means we don't want more of those games on the Wii?

@Lordthenight not really. but speaking from personal experience and what some of my own multi console owner friends we just dont care that much. Everytime I think about Wii and 3rd party I look to my 40 3rd party PS3 library and just say "meh" why would I get stressed over Wii when my PS3 is supplying my gaming needs. Sure it woud be nice to play my Wii a bit more, or at least have it like my PS2/GC when they were getting equal game time but what are you gonna do??? bottom line is im not so dependent on Wii so I have less invested when it comes to what games do or dont come to that system.

This isn't about the games for my sake. It's about the developers accepting that they are at fault for the games not selling, by not making enough for the top games to start selling big. The HD systems are flooded with major games, and THAT is what made the audience, not just the gamers magically being there.

Nintendo don't need them, let these stupid developers keep supporting the HD systems with great games. ]
And these 3rd party developers are great because they are supporting the 3DS which is powerful like the HD systems. Yeahhhhhh!

@lordthenight you cant lay all the blame on the 3rd parties. it BS Wii sold because of games like Wii sports and things like that. That is what sells on Wii. the blockbusters sell on HD. Even if they did manage to make more of these blockbuster games on Wii, because its so far behind the HDs in terms of overall power it would still be seen as inferior and it would sell better on the HD consoles anyway. And when 3rd parties do make an exclusive core game, it flops, hell Sin&Punishment flopped and thats about as core as you can get. I think some Wii gamers were trying to get away with buying a cheap console and thinking they were going to get the more bigger titles. thats like me buying a geo metro and being mad that it does not have all the features of a lexus. sometimes you get what you pay for

The only blame you can place on Nintendo is that they didn't moneyhat, and that's like blaming a business that doesn't get approved zoning because they didn't bribe the city council...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Some quick points.
First of all, everyone does know that Associated Content is basically a free-for-all blog location -- like the Examiner. It is NOT a real structured site. Then again, so are most video game sites ... but I wanted to make that point clear.
Second, there were many reports that Nintendo changed how it sought out third-parties this generation. It even created a dead period in their release schedule a while back, to let them fill. But third parties have tended to not know what to do on the Wii or have had trouble doing it well (I have gotten games that could not recognize when you moved the controller). The result has been a few gems and a lot of junk.
Finally, if anyone questions the power of Nintendo as a publisher, look at Wii Music failure. It sold 2.86M. Only 23 of 1,029 Xbox 360 games in the VGC database have reached that level. Only 17 of 879 for the PS3. But for the Wii and Nintendo, this is considered a failure. (The sales place Wii Music 25th out of 1,402 games in the VGC database).
