If you put another person's genitals on your mouth (or yours on their mouth), you are at risk for catching some STDs. That's just a risk you'll have to take. No getting around that. You can take precautions when having intercourse but unless you are ok with sucking latex, there's not much you can do precaution wise with oral sex aside from limiting the number of partners you involve yourself with.
