I would suggest that the game failed QA and they now have to fix whatever those issues were. I would also suggest they do not have long to fix them before resubmitting. If they cannot make the holiday window then I would expect some guys to be looking for new jobs.

Kinda off topic but this feels to me a lot like Sonic Xtreme saga for Sega Saturn...except that was 10 times more dramatic, tragic and important for Sega.

Sony will be just fine if they don't release GT5 but Sega was lost in America without a real Sonic game for the entire generation.
