First off, I know there are multiple threads about the Spike Video Game awards and the various awards given.  Don't give me shit about that because this thread isn't about that.  This thread isn't about the actual awards, it's about the fact Spike is by far one of the dumbest things I've ever seen.  I actually feel sad for humanity for knowing that channel exists and that is what this thread is about.

So I watched about 15 minutes of the Spike Video Game Awards tonight and I didn't realize just how much a joke those were until that.  I had always imagined those were just some over hyped joke but those were beyond ridiculous.  

When I tuned in they just introduced Stan Lee and I thought it might actually be cool.    Sadly Stan Lee was trying to be extreme or funny, I think extreme because I've seen Stan Lee try to be funny and he actually can be.  He was making weird hand gestures, saying he loved to game even though he obviously didn't know anything, and it was just sad.  I never felt so sad to see Stan Lee.

After that some fat bastard comic waddled on stage.  He decided to go for the most obvious and unfunny and started making *gasp* fat jokes.  After that, he decided to remind every he loved games and he was a *big* gamer.  Oh he's clever.

Eventually they got to an award and for some reason they decided to paint the awards on naked women (really wasn't as hot as it sounds).  I thought about changing the channel at that point but then decided  it couldn't get any worse.

After that some douche wrestler and his dumb bitch wife came on and started talking about how they loved gamers and games.  Blah, still crap.  I don't even know what they were doing there because my audio went out again.  Hoo-ray!

After that Tila Tequila I'm a Huge Slut came on and at that point I was reminded that the Writers Guild strike was still on.  God I hate her.  It still baffles me, but the show kept getting worse.

Finally the guy that looks like a balding bear from the Sarah Silverman shows comes on and he actually started out funny.  I thought things were going to be funny and good from then on and then he made the same joke the fat bastard comic earlier made about being a *big* gamer.  At that point I finally gave up hope and changed the channel.

I mean really, who watches this crap?  Is there anyone here actually guilty of watching garbage like Spike and G4?  That was probably the worst 15 minutes television I've ever seen.  Why do people support this crap?

What the hell do you think the audience wants.
Do you think that they want some retarded goofy nerd people reviewers to pop in and nominate them?
What the hell do you expect, you use stars to nominate the games etc.

 I would think they want actual entertainment.  It is possible to have something that isn't pure crap and still entertain people.

 You're telling me they actually fucked up simple fanservice? How is that even possible? Or was it because you were actually watching Spike and your higher brain function simply refused to remain active during the show?

EDIT: I retract my question. I just remembered I've actually seen Stripperella (my brain must of tried to bury that memory) and that failed to be, well anything other than god-awful.

It might not have entertained you but who says it didnt others. Just because it didnt happen or work for you doesnt mean it didnt work for others.

yes i believe their comedy sucked real bad, but most of america is full of people who enjoy that crap

I realize that things that entertain me shouldn't entertain everybody (especially since I like some pretty silly stuff), but there's no excuse for the utter garbage that Spiked spewed all over the stage. I do take a little offense to this because I am a gamer, I love playing games, and I make games. Crap like this just makes gamers look like giant idiots.

In the 15 minutes I watched that crap, I saw:

1. An enormous unfunny comic make the completely obvious fat jokes
2. Stan Lee make an ass of himself (which should piss anyone off).
3. Tina Tequila be a dumb slut
4. Naked painted women whoring the place up
5. Wrestlers (nuff said).
6. The one guy that a chance being funny make the same fat joke the enormous fat bastard comic made.
7. All the above people pretending they're huge gamers

The funniest part of the show happened in our living room. My 5 year old daugher was getting ready for bed, when she took a look at one of the ladies with writing on them and blurted out, "Why is that girl with decorations on her showing her Privates?"

O i completely agree twestern but again thats what the public likes. FOr some danm reason they love tina tequila, wrestlers, and every other idiodic thing they did.

But its not just spike tv, its the nation itself. Spike did what it had to entertain.......and they did what america likes. Its why the wrestlers, tina, and everything else succeed cause the public likes them (i dont know why).

Id be more worried for humanity as a whole then spike TV. Trust me i completely agree but what else can you do.......
