Funny how they announced a delay a few days after the pre-order numbers comes out.
*strokes chin*

They should have already finalized the game in September
And Polyphony Digital should come back to reality

Or more if it releases near Black Friday.
The boost GT5 will give to PS3 sales will be way higher, and I think it's pretty much sure that GT5's first week will be much better. The reason for that is simple: it has almost NO competition in December. Games like CoD and Assassin's Creed all release in November and each of those games which release around the same time have potential to steal at least a few sales of GT5.
Actually, my first week prediction is more reasonable now than it was before the delay.

Right around Black Friday would be very smart. |
That'd be suicide. Way too many other deals going on. GT5 would be overshadowed by other things.
On another note, even if the boost comes later on, that just means the PS3 is going to be down YOY for a few more weeks extra as well so the boost won't really be any bigger/smaller over all. The PS3 is still going to be far short of their 15 million estimate.
