So, Gran Turismo, being the awesomeness that it is, introduces the concept of giving final release dates, release dates of their own.  This is pure awesome man!

Well, looks my 2010 want list for releases gets reduced to... Black Ops and maybe Forza 3 complete, with LBP 2 and Gran Turismo skipping this year?  Oh wait, there is Fable 3.  Nevermind...

Don't worry guys, during the tests they probably found a blocking bug. We already know the the game is almost complete you just have to a little more.

sony should at least release a demo on psn.

Sony already have release a demo... it's call GT5 prologue and cost $40 :D

Or maybe they should release GT5 Prologue II on 2011 so PD can give all the car the premium treatment... To finally release the game on 2013, one month before the release of the PS4.

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.

i meant like a time trial demo they had earlier this year just so we can see the new build of the game with maybe some weather.

While I agree that delaying many times isnt professional, I dont get the hating. We already know that GT5 pack more features and better presentation then most games.

Well at this rate Duke Nukem Forever will be out before GT5 LOL.

Well, I would hope so since it will have been in development for over 8 years more than GT5 when it releases next year.  However, I'm pretty confident that GT5 will be released this Dec.

@ OP

I don't get all this whining.  Let's keep in mind that GT4 was in development for 3 1/2 years or more (at one point it got a delay of over a year and a 1/2).  This is with having previous knowledge of how the PS2 worked.  Now if you consider this is the first time PD has worked on the PS3, as well as the fact that GT5 is miles ahead of GT4 in terms of presentation and features, is it really hard to believe that GT5 would take 5 years to develop?  For me it's not.  And when GT is Sony's largest cash cow, you better believe they are going to listen to Yamauchi when he tells them the game isn't finished, yet.

What's really amusing is that of the people saying they lost interest in GT5, or are no longer buying it, half probably had no interest in buying the game in the first place.  While the remaining half are just complaining, but will purchase the game anyway.

So, it looks like GPL, GTR2 and rFactor will keep the throne some more time...

Apparently the delay is because Sony required that the game need firmware 3.5.

"Like I said it is manufacturing issues. I had it confirmed today.

The problem arose when SCE mandated SDK 350 on all games releasing after after October, GT5 was about to go gold running on SDK 341, but it has been delayed by around a week so that they can update to SDK 350. This has caused a big headache for the manufacturing side, given how big this game is missing the gold date by even a week can cause a months worth of delay as slots are already taken up at this time of year for Blu-ray movies and such. So Sony had to find a 3 week slot big enough to make 7m copies of this and get them shipped out.

If you want to blame anyone, I would direct it at the pirates and hackers, SCE never had any real SDK restrictions before firmware 3.41 was compromised."
