Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Fans, who do you want see OUT of the console race?

As I said in the Sega fans thread--Nintendo..IMO would be better off as a software only publisher. Let Sony and Microsoft duck it out in the hardware race and let Nintendo publish their games on those systems. Only games worthwhile on a Nintendo platform are typically from them so makes most sense IMO.

Nintendo is only the most innovative hardware company out there.  I'm not a fan of motion controls, but the big N has been the creators that have pushed this industry forward as a whole.  They are the first to bring the following things mainstream to consoles:

D-pad

shoulder buttons

3D platformers

analog sticks

wireless controllers (that actually work)

motion controls

They have also been the forerunners in the portable industry.  So, I guess I disagree with the hate for NIntendo.  They need to continue to create hardware and innovate.  I probably shouldn't even be in this thread anyways, as I see no reason for any company to leave, and I'm not mainly a Microsoft fan, but I, like the thread creator, like reading other people's thoughts.  I just disagree that Nintendo should leave.  I think their first party software would even suffer as a result as they generally release software to coincide with their hardware.

I want Microsoft out the PC market!! (Gaming)

Definitely this!

Why? because they need to focus everything they have on making games for the 360 and not on the PC.

It's cuz of you guys that we lost Ensemble.  =(

Good riddance!!! XD

...

Really?

I do, but only because I don't have time for them. Anyway, I was joking about the "good riddance" part, hence the "XD"

If  I had to pick one, definitely Sony. They remind me a lot of Apple; just a bunch of over priced junk that doesn't do that damn thing it was supposed to.

have you looked at the PS3 game library?

I would want Sony out but 'ONLY' if I could guarantee they would take their franchises to the 360. I'd love for all my friends to game on the same system, but not if I would have to sacrifice future Wipeout/Uncharted etc games. As much as I think the the online on the PS3 is rubbish, Sony's studios make kick ass single player experiences.

sony. because their breath stinks.

I have believed for awhile that Nintendo should become a software maker only when it comes to consoles (not handhelds).  Why?  For instance the Wii could just have easily (probably easier even) been a add-on for the 360 and/or the PS3.  The Wii console itself added nothing to gaming. It was an underpowered piece of equipment.  Kinect and Move prove that Wii was an underpowered console with motion controller.  So Nintendo do what they do best make games and peripherals.

...Read the second bold statement and then go back to the first one...

i think he means it didn't have any staying power, and wasn't built to last long , since motion gaming can be added easily by addons

Well, the jury's still out about its staying power. But considering it has already sold 74 million I'd say it bodes well for its stay power.

What exactly did the HD consoles add to gaming? Better graphics? Whoopdi freakin doo..

What does wii add to gaming? Motion controls? Whoopdidoo.

HD consoles have better graphics, better games and definitely better online. I think those things can be counted as adding something to gaming.
