Forums - Microsoft - Why doesnt Microsoft buy Twisted Pixel Games??

These guys created Comic Jumper, Splosion Man and Maw which all have been great

I think Ms should buy or team up with them and create a great platformer (which has been lackluster) on the 360 and who knows it could end up becoming the new 360 mascot

Microsoft learned their lesson with Rare. They want to avoid the following scenario.

1. spend a shitload of money to buy publisher

2. publisher has key people leave shortly after

3. crappy games follow

MS doesn't buy gaming companies as much anymore. They let go of quite a bit of them (the minds behind Top Spin, Links, PGR which im sure Activision regets buying looking at Blur sales, and Blood Stone probably won't be much better) and they let Bungie do their own thing.

For some reason MS thinks paying off for a years in exclusivity is more worth it to them or getting the rights to a name. Right now the only three big studios they own are: Rare (a shell of their former self) Turn 10 (Who makes the amazing Forza series, and were rumored to make a new PGR but I've heard nothing) and lastly 343 Studios (A new studio but comprised of former Bungie employees and their entire focus is new Halo games). So I severely doubt they'll be buying any studios anytime soon.

Also they don't own Remedy contrary to popular belief. They are simply a "second party" to MS - they made Alan Wake under Microsoft Game Studios which basically gave the name and rights of Alan Wake to MS.

It's just that simple.

Where´s LionHead there ?

Its funny but Twisted Pixel seems much more like a company Sony would buy than Microsoft.

Cause they are innocent and pure?

I would only approve of that if they could continue to make XBLA games because that's what they are really good at.

Oh yeah... and Lion head lol
