| MonstaMack said: MS doesn't buy gaming companies as much anymore. They let go of quite a bit of them (the minds behind Top Spin, Links, PGR which im sure Activision regets buying looking at Blur sales, and Blood Stone probably won't be much better) and they let Bungie do their own thing. For some reason MS thinks paying off for a years in exclusivity is more worth it to them or getting the rights to a name. Right now the only three big studios they own are: Rare (a shell of their former self) Turn 10 (Who makes the amazing Forza series, and were rumored to make a new PGR but I've heard nothing) and lastly 343 Studios (A new studio but comprised of former Bungie employees and their entire focus is new Halo games). So I severely doubt they'll be buying any studios anytime soon. Also they don't own Remedy contrary to popular belief. They are simply a "second party" to MS - they made Alan Wake under Microsoft Game Studios which basically gave the name and rights of Alan Wake to MS. |
What about Lionhead?
EDIT: viStaR beat me to the punch. Good show old bean!
