Game Informer has made some nice covers since combining front and back covers.  I like this one more than the chosen one, it just screams desperation.

I'm not a huge fan tbh. looks more like concept art than a cover should be imo - can even see what looks like pre-sketch lines from the artist in some places...

it is sorta. This is more like the sketch they had...they actually have the sketch they used for the current cover on their site as well now :)

I love the way GI handles their covers now.  Generally one large, elegant piece of concept art that that really represents the basics of whatever game they've chosen.

It's a shame Killzone 3 didn't get a cover back when it was announced.  LBP2 as well, though I think Killzone's artstyle in particular would've really made for a great cover.

Thank god they chose the better one, this is horrible! lol

this'll learn me for not reading the OP properly - I'd assumed GI had uncovered a tentative cover for the game itself, not the mag!

as a magazine cover it makes a lot more sense
