Forums - Gaming - Reviews that got you to buy a game that you were on the fence about getting

Is there a game that you thought of getting but didn't until you read or watched a awesome review for it.

I remember that when Demon souls was about t get released in Japan back in February 2009 I was considering getting it but until I watched one particluare Review on the game I did not get it but right after that I got Demon Souls immediately after that.

I tend to look at youtube reviews as well, but mainly at amazon, because those reviews are written by people who i dont think go on gaming websites, so i think those reviews are at times more impartial and unbaised than something off ign for example.

the other thing is on amazon, theres always people who give something 1 star and another with 5 stars, i like to look at both to see which person i'm more like, thus whether or not i will enjoy the game. oh, i got Demon's Souls because of the gamespot review, and i too was not dissappointed!!

Edit: and a game i got based on a review was Prince of Persia the Two Thrones, and i was pretty pleased with it at the time, but now i can see it was just an okay game, and the other 2 were better.

I remember in April 2009 reading all the Little King's Story reviews a couple of days before release in ONM, Eurogamer, etc.  I had little interest in the game before, but later that day I pre-order a copy.

I'm glad I did as it was an amazing game.

for me it's a Demon's Souls review as well (although it technically isn't a "review")

this analysis http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=25238 pushed me over the fence

for me it was the Uncherted 2 Review at G4TV. Ill be honest i never really bought any PS3 games until Uncharted 2. I bought my PS3 when MGS4 came out (I bought the bundle). I beat the 1st level of MGS4 but then i got bored and went to go play my xbox 360 and Gears 2. For over a year my PS3 was just collecting dust. I missed out on a lot of cool games which im still trying to buy today. After Uncharted 2 came out and saw all the awesome reviews it got it went to go buy it and it turned out to be one of the best gaming experiences for me in a long time. It made me see what the PS3 had to offer. Then i started buying a lot of PS3 games. I even bought a PS3 headset. I also beat MGS4 and it is among my most favorite games of all time. I went from having 2 games in 2009 to about 10 games now (I know its not a lot but still quite an increse). Im still trying to buy some awesome games i missed out on like demons souls, valkyria chronicles, and folklore. I also became a fan of new games like infamous, little big planet, god of war, and killzone. And this is after watching one review of uncharted 2!

I ordered this game too because it had good reviews. I really hope it is a good one...
