I would have said Predators until i saw one of them be killed by a fucking Samurai sword. One of the dumbest things a movie ever tried pulling off.

I dunno man, Danny Glover did go toe to toe with one and win. Also, Hawthorne killed a chimera with his knife.

Predator's are being seriously underrated here.

Weren't the Chimera defeated by having their entire fleet blown up by one Nuclear Bomb?

You don't think a couple Predators couldn't replicate that feat?

this and they have cloaking

Chimera have cloaking too.

those chameleons are garbage lol. They make to much noise and would be taken out with the quickness.

Well as long as they have predators to convert or humans. They can also see through walls, and weapons that can shoot through walls. They can sprint at high speed, have a Leviathan, or Goliaths, and giant space ships. VS predators with nukes on their shoulders. I think that evens things out.

Predators always wear breathing aparatus.  They won't really be able to convert them...

as for the giant bosses... I dunno, i think a blaster that is hotter then the core of most suns would pretty much take one of those down pretty easy.

Being giant is nothing but a weakness.  It's why we don't have Mecha in real life... and why tanks are more and more becoming a liability rather then a strength.

As for Spaceships... Predators have those.  Huge Motherships... with cloaking devices that make them invisible to all computer systems....

and Lazers that can burn a hole through a planets all the way down to the deep crust.

In otherwords... they have lazers that can oneshot any ship they need to.

It's just not worth mentioning though, because honestly, they shouldn't even need it.

The Chimeria would just be sport for them.

So do Chimera

But the real question is... what are there anti-cloaking devices like?  The Predators for example have things that would make most cloaking devices useless and it's standard issue gear.  (Goggles that track all kinds of things like body tempeture, different wavelengths of light, energy output)

I love me some sont even i aint blind enough to know that Predator>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>anything that insomniac can come up with

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

Well that settles it. My absolute final judgement will be on stand by until I see what the Chimera have in Resistance 3.

Predators

I just don't know, when I look back at the weapons here. I still think Chimera got a chance. the weapon at 00:04 sec is cool you got to admit. notice the pulse cannon at the end. I don't remember seeing a Chimera using a pulse cannon though.

Here are some weapons that I want to show to prove they got a fighting chance.

yea yea in the campaign story mode they are easy on easy mode. enjoy

I... don't see how any of those weapons really help... they're just like regular guns but more powerful.

I don't see how that stands up to a wide arc laser that instantly combusts any living thing it hits.

It would basically be....

Predator decloaks, and explodes an entire platoon of chimera soldiers in a couple of seconds.  (Literally the thing blows up entire platoons in a couple of seconds.)

Quite honestly when, they were created and how their fiction developed... predators are really quite literally the badass aliens in their universe... by far.

The only reason it seems like the Chimera would remotely have a chance is because the most expierence most people have with predators is the predator movies.

Which, like I said earlier, is about the equivlent of a regular guy out hunting.

The Predator Military equips it's troops with ridiculiously strong nearly impossible to penetrate armour, personal anti bullet and missle technology, weapons like the above that can let a single predator light an entire platoon on fire.  Mentally controlled blades that cut through entire groups of people.  Sniper rifles that take out an Alien Queen in one shot.

Ships that can badly damage other planets and pretty much 1 shot any ship out there and are invisible to other ships.

Really, for the Chimera to have a chance you gotta figure out how can the Chimera negate BOTH the Predator's cloaking devices and their Mothership's cloaking device?

If they can't.... that means the Predators are going to

A) Be able to dictate where the battles are fought

B) Get first strike often with weapons meant to take out an entire platoon of troops.

C) Be able to disengage from the fight at a moments notice if things look bad.

Predator's can do everything the Human's did about 100 times better... and while the Chimera likely could do things a lot better then the humans too... no human army would stand up to the predator army.

They'd be at a fairly big disadvantage even if they got rid of the Predator's cloaking... but with it.  It's not even a fight.

I mean... Predator's keep alien's queens locked up to hunt their children... for fun.

Alien's vs Chimera would be a more interesting fight honestly.  Does the virus effect low intellect animals?

the virus effects everything down to a cellular level. it been there since the beginning of time. thats their main weapon and their chance of a even fight. all living thing and predators is no exception.

i said it before and i say it again and that goes for every fictional apple vs oranges thread:

it's the writer who decides the outcome.

that means we have to put the guy who came up with the chimera vs the guy who created the predators in a ring.

DING DING DING!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
