InFamous felt way too American for me to really enjoy. I did somehow enjoy my first playtrough. But since I went for the Platinum, I had to do a second "evil playthrough". The story is not very deep and the characters are not worked out well (Zeke....). The sidequests are once again repetitive and are adding nothing to the main story. The trivial story failed to get me connected to the fate of the city/people.
The evil playthrough killed it for me. It felt so disgusting that I wanted to stop playing half way through...I haven't found one single game where I enjoyed such moral/decision systems. They only tend to have you beat the same game mulitple times and every sequel doubles the effort you have to put in. In the end such systems only mean that you will miss something...or more accurate, they make me feel that I am missing something. Even Heavy Rain, really awesome, suffered a bit because seeing all endings means to play the same levels over and over again...
I am a but confused whether I will try InFamous 2 out. The first playthrough was quite enjoyable... but if I have to play the "evil Playthrough" again for the Platinum the series is dead for me, no matter how good the reviews will be.
I guess sandbox games/sidequest centric games are just not my taste...even if they are of "game of the year" quality. I prefer linear storycentric games.
