The GC controller is terrible(I own one).

PS3 six axis all the way.

leo-j, you need to work on being less predictable. Any post i open that is not "PS3 is the SH*T!" there is no doubt you will be trolling with "What you like is cr&p, PS3 all the way!" Sony needs to put you in a cheerleader outfit and have you in high def on the sidelines of every PS3 sports game.... GGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sony!"

Dude, he's a kid. What do you expect?

I know I was that way when I was his age too... (about SEGA being better than Nintendo...SEGA does what Nintendon't...ahh, I miss those days).

He'll outgrow this phase of his life and realize being loyal to a company (who is out to make money, not friends) or a videogame device is just plain silly. If you like video games, you should go to where the games are (we play games because we like the games, right?). It just takes a while to realize this thinking is reasonable. Don't worry, he'll get it eventually.

Thats very true, I keep forgetting he's so young. Back in the day I was on the Ninty side of the Sega/Ninty war, and loathed Sega until Irealized there were games Iwanted to play and being a console snob made me the loser.  Funny, I always felt a loyalty to Ninty even when Sony was getting all my money. I always bought games on the GC when they were mutli-platform because of the GC controller (except for the Lord of the Rings games, for some reason I bought the PS2 ones. I wasn't sure if the movie footage would be mixed in the GC version like it was in the PS2 ones, and to this day I still don't know if it was.) But games like Alien Hominid, Beyond Good & Evil, Viewtiful Joe were always were for the Wavebird...... but I bought many more PS games last generation.

Anyway, I hope Leo does learn to lighten up, he'll have much more fun if he just plays good games, no matter who makes 'em.

BAM! There it is!

Xbox's Controller S or whatever they called it was best last gen.

Every other gen belongs to Nintendo.

My vote is for the SNES pad. It was pure genius of gaming.

now this it the part where I get my self into trouble. So I'm gonna put on the flame suit.

I sincerely believe that anyone on this thread who voted for the PSone/Dualshock/Dualshock 2/SIXAXIS/Dualshock 3 controllers should be counted as a vote for SNES pad. Why? because all of them are SNES design theory with added features (like wings, rumble, analog). I also think this is a problem Sony needs to address. The SNES style is perfect for 2-D gaming, but both Ninty and MS have evolved their controller to play 3-D games while Sony has not. For crying out loud, why is the Primary analog stick in a hard to reach secondary position on a 3-D console. It makes no sense.

Of course this argument is moot when it comes to the SIXAXIS since obviosly it was designed for the next leap in gaming, 4-D gaming.

EDIT: I just remembered, the Dualshock 3 reportedly does switch the D-pad and Analog Stick. So accolades to Sony for finally catching up. You are only a decade behind Nintendo.

GC was my favorite. It just felt so natural & I never got confused by the buttons. *gets out flame shield*

Wiimote (and the Nunchuk also) is the best.

That's not counting mouse & keyboard though...

Top 3 favorite games: Super Mario Galaxy, The Sims 2 (PC), The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

the sixaxis

lol just kidding

i'd say nintendo controllers are pretty much the best each generation. n64 controller was amazing at the time. so much better than anything before and a ton better than the psx controller. only downfall was the 3 prongs but you never needed all 3 prongs at once so it was fine and the analog stick and the z trigger were just revolutionary. gamecube controller while having weird button layout the only awkward button was the z button but it by far fit the hands the best. while xbox was good but awkward and hard to reach some buttons and sony just never does anything to change their mediocre controller. this gen the wiimote feels amazing and the 360 controller is pretty good but i'd have to give it to the wiimote. nintendo has always had the best controllers easily.

end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million,  360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

Games I've beat recently: Super Mario Galaxy, Knights of the Old Republic, Shadow of the Collossus

Proud owner of wii, gamecube, xbox, ps2, dreamcast, n64, snes, genesis, 3DO, nes, atari, intellivision, unisonic tournament 2000, and gameboy

I think its that you guys have never touched a playstation controller.. or maybe you have differents hands with 1 finger or something.

The gamecube controller has it's issue's most notably the small D-pad but the Dualshock easily comes up worse then the cube controller.  The D-pad on the Sony joystick is a complete joke.  The button naming scheme is horrendous and the game pad hurts your hand in extended gaming sessions. Never mind the issue's of the controllers being prone to break!

The best pad is the SNES...

Prepare for termination! It is the only logical thing to do, for I am only loyal to Megatron.

i love xbox 360 said:
iv played with the ps2, xbox, 360 and gamecube and i must say that the 360 controller is the best

X360 controller is a joke compared to the Wii remote

The NES Advantage joystick, an arcade quality stick in your home in the 80s, and the thing was unbreakable.

Loved it.
