I think I'm the first person to say I won't be buying GoldenEye. I was going to I actually had it pre-ordered until I played it at PAX. I wanted the classic game but the demo I played was in a new level, when i asked the developer he said that it wasn't so much a remake as a re-imagining and that it was not going to be like the origional for the most part. He's like "Its a whole new game" I guess he thought that would impress me , but I liked the origional as it was and after playing I want a remake not re-invisioning.

Now after the game comes out and I rent it to get a better idea of how good a game it is I might buy it. But for now I'm going to pass I pulled my pre-order and placed the money down on Epic Yarn instead. PAX really effected which titles I am buying except for Donkey Kong that was a given.

They can't just use the old game's levels. That would just make a legal mess with Rare.

Nope because Activision has the bond liscense. Rare owns the rights to the code and thats about all. As long as the remake was a 100% new product Rare and Microsoft wouldn't be able to do a thing. Its like if hollywood remakes a movie, the rights to the origional belong to the origionals creator but the new film can be made by a different publisher as long as it doesn't re-use any of the origional content.

What makes you think the code didn't relate to the levels?

Well since alot of coding has changed over the years, and the fact that these levels would be being remade from scratch using new technology, I doubt the origional code would exist even if you remade the levels similiar (Or exactly) the way they were in the origional.

I already used another industry example. Movies they can remake a movie with a different developer even a different publisher all they need is the IP's liscense. Sure they can't resell the old product without approval but they can remake it.

Same goes for video games, sure Activision can't resell Rare's work but they can replicate it themselves and sell it.

I've played it, it is complete shit.

Was he really banned for this post? XD What a shit forum and shit moderation team. If I said something like "I've played it [HAZE, Final Fantasy XIV, etc], it is complete shit", I bet you I wouldn't get banned.

My god, do we have to say like "I believed it was not adequate" or "I believe that the game was not up to my standards"? For christ sakes, if we think a game is shit, we think it's shit. If it's perfectly acceptable to say "I believe X game is brilliant/awesome", logically we should also be allowed to say the opposite.

I don't know, I won't get into how we all define "trolling" or "flaming", but I believe that rules and forum moderation in general should take a minimalist approach. That is, we punish those that are undeniably and unquestionably out of line. I think it would have been better for KylieDog to elaborate on why he thought the game was shit, but lack of explanation doesn't change the fact that he believed and said the game was shit ("flaming" it).

Look, we don't like fanboys, we don't like flame wars. But Jesus, the benefit gained from this anal retentive micromanagement to uphold a politically correct environment is totally offset by the cost of not letting people express themselves freely, making everyone sound sort of the same.  KylieDog is probably one of the least fanboyish persons I've known. When he finds something shitty, he says that he thinks it's shitty. He doesn't think everything on the PS3 is amazing like those weeaboo teenage PS3 fanboys that infest this site. Yet, he's fucking banned under this system?

If it's the only thing you are posting, that is posting flame comments and running. That is what the problem is. It's not the first time users here have done that.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

The graphics are just too poor compared to shooters like Metroid Prime. This looks more like a ps2 game.

It doesn't. I still play PS2 games, and the graphics don't look nearly as good, unless the scale is far smaller than that game (I mean like a fighting game).

I think if the game lives up to the vidoes in that ign link, this game would end up being the best realistic looking Wii game, not counting the on-rail shooters, with the one exception maybe being Silent Hill Shattered Memories. That just means imo it looks better than all of the CoD games and RE4 Wii, but it still compares favorably to what else is offered on the system.

Yep, I've been waiting for this...

this puts ALOT of interest back into this game for me. looks and sounds fantastic.

im still on the fence on whether im getting this or CoD:BO. this looks it has the far better single player and a few cool multiplayer modes, but BO just looks like it has the better online all together......decisions.

Well if you want local multiplayer as well, Black Ops won't have that (save for rail shooting for the second player). If you don't care for that, you still have a choice. Otherwise go for Goldeneye.

I imagine that history has a lot to do with this.  This poster has often made negative comments about the Wii, in part because of his dislike for the type of games he likes.

Plus, there is just a declarative statement, without any support. That is not advancing the conversation. That is trolling. If you noticed, the person who said the graphics were not up to snuff had no punitive action taken.
