Forums - Gaming - Panasonic reveals a new handheld?

they should bundle minecraft exclusive edition with it, and then it will sell megatonz

The theory - Nintendo has a new competitor

The Fact - Apple has a new fly to swat (didn't Sonys PSPGo teach anyone anything?)

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

On not so related thought, if this device is targeted specifically for browser MMO crowd, I wonder if it could give Nokia some food for thought. Because one can play browser games pretty well on N900 already, both flash-based and even Java-based. So, if Panasonic could do it and there's market for that, prolly it will give Nokia incentive to pull marketing strings in this area. too. Would be interesting, because Maemo/Meego certainly have edge here over iOS/Android, and from tech perspective it's already here, it only needs targeting. The big question if the market exists, though.

i dont like the design and mmos on the go seems like a bad idea... i dont see this happening it will bomb fast unless it has awesome exclusive games. why would u stop playing mmos on a computer to play on that?
