Poor choice of words.

It wont end the year up 30%... nowhere near. BUT yes.. saying its dead is utterly stupid. Its just stuck in last in the US. |
I wouldn't say "biased"... we just don't have the numbers at the end of the year for comparison... but I guess PS3 should be UP... maybe 10% or 15% but still UP.

The ps3 is not doing that much better in Japan, it's just that the 360 is a complete failure there and that blinds some people when the reality is that the playstation brand has been badly damaged in Japan (Sony's home country) . 5.5 million in 4 years ?? That's ..not good at all. |
You said the PS3 is not horrible how the 360 is doing in Europe. Evidentally you need to read more.
Right NOW the XB360 is almost caught up with PS3 is the EMEAA area, when months ago it was over 700K behind !! Almost caught up.. look at the recent EMEAA report here: In some areas PS3 is better in some 360 is better, but the totals of all areas are at bottom right.. as you can READ they are very close now.. I think its the 360 slim.. same thing that happened when the PS3 slim out.. better price helps alot..

Yeah we'll see.. I think its a pure fantasy to think Sony will end up 2nd and especially 1st.. Looking at current and past trends have you figured out the INCREDIBLE Numbers they'll need just to acheive 2nd place within 4 yrs? The magic just isn't there if you figure those numbers and in this economy its even worse..
If you google and read what insiders are saying that Sony wants to get their Next Gen system out ahead of MS this time you're looking at the PS3 and XB being phased out around 2013'ish sometime.. Looking at past trends, headstarts help or seem to alittle, also a console that was in 3rd place or 2nd place stayed in that place the rest of it life.. PS2 has a 1.5 year headstart on the Gamecube and was up by how many million after 2 yrs? Look folks you can dream all you want but the 360 and PS3 are FIVE YRS old.. yes the PS3 was launched a year late, but the keyword is LATE.. Developers has both consoles in their hands an entire year before 2006 ( when both planned on launching and only MS did).. The PS3 will never last as long as the much LOVED PS2 which was Sony at its best launching a console in the perfect storm..
THERE ALL DOOOMED!!!!
on a serious note, I think they are just going to ride out the rest of this gen on the prospect of making money. Not units sold. If I was sony, I would be trying to make as much as possible. which means cutting price only when needed. There sales are not bad and should stay the course.
When the ps3 price hits 200-250 it will pick up alot of sales. Who isn' t going to buy one. It's a blu-ray player and gaming system. It's just a matter of time. I think the 360 will be in last place again(I own one and wouldn't mind having a ps3).

I really like that analagy :)

match is one time use, lighter can be used alot, and matches can't be lit with nothing lighter can
