So what does MS have planned for their hardcore userbase for Jan-September? If I only had an XBox I would find this worrisome, especially after MS stated that the reason for this had nothing to do with polishing up or anything, with the only reason being that they want it to be their marquee title next holiday season. The game is ready for a spring release, but instead of giving it to you guys they instead choose to hold it back.
I don't know about all of you, but that tells me that if they didn't delay it you probably wouldn't have had any big exclusive for next holiday season.
Anyone else noticing this?
Microsoft needs to get themselves some more studios.

Their focus has shifted a bit. They're really pushing Kinect and they may REALLY do that between Nov 2010 and the Fall of next year, to really get the message across. They probably have Forza 4 (or PRG5), Gears 3, and maybe Crytek's exclusive for their core fans, and leave the Jan - Sept months to let mutliplats and Kinect do the talking against Sony & Nintendo.

I don't think that crytek game will be ready until 2012 at least. Ain't Crytek still working on Crysis 2. They probabley only have a team of 10 working on the 360 exclusive. Also if Sonys main focus was on move next year only and all the PS3 was getting was multiplat then I'd be a very pissed off PS3 owner. Miscrosofts handing over sales to the PS3 with that delay

We are talking about 5 1/2 years into this console generation. If you truly think any of these upcoming exclusives are going to be console sellers and for that matter make the PS3 outsell the 360 you are mistaken. After GT5 PS3 has no more big console sellers. LBP2, KZ3, Infamous 2, etc are not going to sell consoles. Its all about price now.

Working together though, they keep the PS3 healthy. It doesn't need a ton of sellers like GT5 anymore, it just needs enough software to keep it up YoY. The 360's exclusive core line-up is lacking for early-mid 2011, so I'm guessing they're really depending on Kinect to keep it healthy by going after a different market. It's a gamble at this point, one that the holidays will give some insight into understanding where it's headed.

Exactly and he's not getting this point. He doesn't realize that all of Sony's first, second and third party exclusives make up the value of the system as a whole. They don't need one or two huge sellers like Microsoft, because that can very easily be equalized in the sales of all of the games. This generation has been all about exclusives and nothing has changed. Microsoft is down to Gears as the final great game for 2011.

I'm glad you know every exclusive MS has planned for 2011. I'd like to know what your point really is. What is this "value" you speak of? If by value you mean the amount of exclusives make the system better then that is your opinion. Some people may value the 360s exclusives more. There are so many games people can buy in a year and just because a game is multiplat or exclusive it makes no difference to console value. If someone already owns a 360 it doesn't make the console less valuable because there are less exclusives. Its a proven fact multiplats actually sell better except for Halo, Gears, and possibly God of War. The average 360 owner isn't going to be disappointed about the games coming out next year. Most only play Call of Duty anyways. As long as a Call of Duty and Gears are being released in 2011 I'm sure most could care less about anything else.
