Forums - Gaming - It's been confirmed, Enslaved is fantastic!

http://www.destructoid.com/review-enslaved-odyssey-to-the-west-185301.phtml

A 9 from the controversial Jim Sterling.

"Enslaved: Odyssey to the West has its flaws, and those flaws are worn on the sleeve at all times. However, none of them tarnish what is, overall, one of the very best experiences released on a console in a long, long time."

A 4.5/5 from the sceptical Justin McElroy

" This is a beacon, a fine reminder that if you have talented people and a little respect for your audience, great storytelling in games can be not only possible but profound."

An 8 from the inconsistent Arthur Geis

"As a trip through an interesting, beautiful world covering ground that hasn’t been effectively tread in games, with a strong narrative and engaging, believable characters, it provides something unique this Fall."

A score of 8 from the shocking Ellie Gibson

"Enslaved is a solid, well-built offering which is a pleasure to play. The excellent storytelling, great acting and fantastic pacing elevate it above the ranks of your average action adventure, and indeed your average videogame."

So if you love games and hate terrorism, go pre-order Enslaved right now!

If you live in the US, K-Mart is supposedly offering a $25 dollar coupon with the game, so hurry up and grab a copy now, then use your $25 coupon to buy Castlevania, Vanquish or a second copy of Enslaved! It's a bargain!

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I thought controls sucked, no? only me?!

Good to see. It's certainly on my radar. I hope it's one of those games that delivers an equivalent quality of game to both PS3 and 360 players.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Sucked? No. But they weren't brilliant either. It's good the game looks good with the story and acting chops to match its spiritual predecessor Heavenly Sword. If a game draws me in with story, acting and visuals then I can live with just OK controls.

And I think it's time for you to put the Metascore in your sig. Halo:Reach has 1 more review recorded against it compared to Halo 3 so it seems like the meta score is pretty well settled.

As usual, when I'm hyped for a game that's available for the PS3 and 360 and there's a demo available on both consoles, I download them both.   I played them both at the same time, switching back and forth between channels.  I couldn't spot any differences (for some reason, the PS3 looked darker but I think that's how my PS3 is set up since it's like that with every game) but the analog on the PS3 felt looser than I liked.  The 360's felt tighter.  Aside from that, it controls a lot like Uncharted 2 mixed with Batman Arkham Asylum. That can only be a good thing, right?

According to a few sites, the demo wasn't a good representation of the whole game, the full game is much better. It's the Dead Space scenario all over again.

I didn't like it in the demo when Monkey ran against an invisible wall at the end of a platform :(. That transferes to the jerky jump anymation. I can't respect that. If one guy can do fluid jumping off ledges from running 20 years ago, a company should be able to do that today. (for the clueless, see Prince of Persia).

The combat didn't make up for it, nor did the climbing. And is it me, or the facial animation is not as good as in Heavenly Sword? ... :(. Well, at least the story is good ... I hope.

Considering that I loved the demo on both (this game caused me to make a European PS3 account!) and I considered that version one of the best demos that I've ever played, this is only good news.
