My take is that the most important task for the Kinect for Microsoftis to increase the sales of the 360 at the expense of the Wii.

What is your take.

Sell more 360s , no doubt about that . I expect kinect to bring a new audiance to the xbox brand. Even if kinect sells 20 million copies until the end of 2011, if the xbox360 hardware numbers don't substantialy grow i will consider it to be a failure.

My take:  Give the 360 its own identity.  To people on the outside looking in, it's gotta deferentiate (I know I fucked up the spelling on that one!) the 360 from the PS3 and the Wii.  If that happens, it won't matter if the PS3 and 360 share 90% of their library.  It'll be known as the console with the Johnny 5 camera.

despite the fact it's just an eye toy rip off that won't work, people are stupid enough to see it as different and new tech because well the 360 fanbase is primarily made up of people that are like that
