I am torn between 8 or 9. They are both great as they are, the only really big perk to being remade would be trophies.

Hrm... remade? None. However, I would LOVE to see a follow-up of FF6, akin to how After Years was done. Make it on WiiWare, with the subtitle "War of the Magi." A prequel to 6, setting up the story for the awesome game. That's what I want; raw remakes are something I think Squeenix has been milking way too much lately.

Final Fantasy XII of course

Sad to see how far the series fell with XIII in a move most likely to pander to the more casual gamers with such a simple straightforward game

Final Fantasy V for DS (or 3DS). SE did an awsome job with IV and I'd love to see V get the same treatment.

I wouldn't mind an HD makeover but only if it has an Amano inspired art style. I do not want it to look anything like FFXIII...

X and XII could be released as one of those new HD PS2 ports for the PS3, à la God of War and Team Ico.

none of the psx ones, even ff7 stills looks good for me, don't know why ppl like ff ramakes so much, they're greats games just as they are

Because they make the games better.  Case in point - Final Fantasy III, the DS remake is much much better than the original.  The other remakes have improved the games to lesser degree, but I really appreciated the extra difficulty, voice acting and augmenting system that the Final Fantasy IV remake brought.
