plus the xbox 360 had a christmas in EUROPE and the PS3 did not.

You all forget that 360 has done nothing in Japan, so essentially it has sold about that much in just two territories. Whether or not Ps3 sales in Japan are not up to par, they are still that much better than the 360's during its first years.

how many times do people have to say that, "the 360 doesn't sell in Japan, so really it is doing better" is not a valid argument.
Take away USA sales and the PS3 is well ahead of the 360, but it isn't fair to take away sales from USA. The fact is they are pretty much equal first years, even though the PS3 released 5-6 months later in Europe.

The reason people say it's selling so bad is because it's the successor to one of the highest selling consoles in history. It's not really a failure on its own merits, but in comparision to the beast that is PS2 it is. 360 on the other hand is the succesor to the Xbox which didn't do so well, so it looks better by comparison.
Sony well, without Europe, for the first what... 5 months? I wonder what sales would be like if they did manage a worldwide launch.
it is not the same, Nintendo selling 20m at the end of the gen(a big profit for Nintendo), and Sony sellig 20m at the end of the gen(a big loss for Sony), Because of that, we say that sony is selling bad, because though it is loosing money, it doesn't sell well.

The whole thing that sony didnt have the console out for 5 months in europe is much valid as the arguement that the 360 had huge shortages for quite a while. While the ps3 was easily avaliable.
Both things had things that stole sales. Overall they are about equal and sony is not doing good because they just came off dominance and now selling as good as a company that did mediocre last gen
With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.
