Im one of those people who always likes to preorder games and get them first day. But it always makes me upsat when a year later even better versions of the game come out and wwith more content and a better price. Examples- Fallout 3 GOTY, Gears of War 2 GOTY, Uncharted 2 GOTY, Heavy rain move edition (I didnt buy heavy rain yet but just using it as an example).  Will this practice continue from now on?

Okay, you're upset about it.

What do you see as the solution?  Pushing every game's release date back a year so they can jam more content in or just not making more content for games after launch?

If you think the former is the solution then just don't buy the game at release and wait a year.  Odds are it'll be cheaper then even if there isn't a new, super improved version coming out.

If you think the latter is the solution then don't buy DLC and newer versions.  If there aren't enough people buying them, then they'll stop being made.

how about make that content free that is added into the game of the year editions. sounds fair to me. uncharted 2 game of the year edition is coming out on october 12th right? how about make all that extra content free for the people who already bought the game

IGN gave it a 7.5 too, Actually when it comes to game reviews, IGN and Gamespot are the only two sites I would trust...

So the game is a 7.5 for me, no matter what meta score it will get in the end.

Yeah Metaknight in SSBB is underrated, and i think a lot of people keep using pikachu for some reason.

I know what your coming from buddy. I paid almost 30 dollars just for DLC and now they're coming out with a GOTY edition with all that extra content included for 10 dollars less than what I bought it for. Its ridiculous yes. But at the same time, there isn't much you can do about it. A GOTY edition is so much more appealing to purchase, and it helps to extend the legs some more.

I know right. I'm probably going to overlook the fact that I've spent waaay to much money just for one game, but hey its Uncharted 2, its worth it. Plus Naughty Dog did state that if they had more money they would be able to do more shit.

well activison is releasing uncompleted games and breaking it up into the base product and about 4 DLC packs.

really its just as bad as buying a printer and then having to buy the USB cord just to get it to dam work

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

People who buy on first day pay more, and are more likely to pay full price for the DLC people who don't buy it after a year need more incentive, it's basic marketing, price and demand, only so many people will buy it at a certain price, so they try to maximize sales in both pools by making it a great deal after a year and ripping off the one who buys it on first day

likely? i'm a late adopter. better price more content.

the real dif is i'm cheap, but i don't buy used versions of games! thats just being lazy?

This.

I have the exact same feelings as SpartenOmega, that I get punished as an early adopter.

They could easily compensate us by giving all the DLC for free after one year  when the GOTY/final version of a game releases.

The problem with that is people could just buy a used version of the non GOTY edition, and cash in on all the free DLC to boot.
