Forums - Gaming - Will square Enix risk making KH3 on muliplatform

I could turn that question into something else entirely; Will Square Enix risk not making KH3 multiplatform? They really have no idea where its at this gen and might as well cover all their bases.

yea but 360 sales don't really boost it by much since its a shooter box

just look at Final Fantasy XIII.enough said.

lol, what?  FFXIII sold 1.5 million on the 360.  That is pretty significant.

And stop pretending it's 2007, the 360 stopped being "the shooter box" a long time ago.

what other games is it good for? or well known for. ding dong~

Well, for console exclusives, off the top of my head (and this isn't a list wars list, I'm just listing non-shooters I know or remember hearing about):

  • Almost the entirety of XBLA
  • Forza
  • Project Sylpheed
  • Too Human
  • Project Gotham Racing
  • Kameo
  • Viva Pinata
  • Ace Combat
  • Dead or Alive
  • Idolmaster
  • Crackdown
  • Dead Rising
  • Alan Wake
  • Lost Odyssey
  • Ninety Nine Nights
  • Blue Dragon
  • Beautiful Katamari
  • Halo Wars
  • Culdcept Saga
  • Lips

Yup, there are only shooters on the 360.  No variety what-so-ever.  I'm sure spending 30 seconds with google I could find more.

Saying the 360 is the shooter box makes you sound as stupid as saying the PS3 has no games or the Wii is two Gamecubes duct taped together.

-edit-

And one more time just because I know if I don't reiterate someone will start, I don't want a list war.  I don't care if another system has a better game than all of those.  It doesn't matter.  I'm just pointing out that the terma "shooter box" may have been valid at one point, it's not anymore.

The 360's two biggest games may be Halo and Gears, that does not make it the shooter box.

You miss the point completely with just a single sentence I made.

Let me rephrase my question.

What game, or video game genre is mostly played on the 360 anywhere even today? Take your time.

And you must have missed my last sentence and completely missed what the term shooter box means.

Also, what do you think is the most played game on the PS3?

I would assume it's Modern Warfare 2.  If it's not that I would assume it's some other shooter.  Does that mean it's the shooter box too?

I didnt miss anything but, I can point out you're coming up with aggression, and false assumptions. I'll answer your question though. I find more diversity on ps3 than shooters. In other words i think it does not rely on it. I don't rely on shooters to be entertained.

So can you actually answer the original question, or shall I rephase it again.

What genre the 360 seem to be reliant on?

Its biggest games are shooters, yes, but it was called the shooter box because it use to only have shooters.  It really didn't have anything else.

Now, it has diversity too.  Look at the above list.  Name a type of game you like and the 360 has it and it even has a good example of it.  About the only thing it's missing is something like Little Big Planet but that hardly makes it a shooter box.

Just like you find more diversity on the PS3 than shooters, I find more diversity on the 360 than shooters.

KH3 isn't far out? Nomura said the game wouldn't even be here by 2012...

Did they even announce a platform for it yet?  Haven't been keeping up on the random KH madness.

"Will they risk making it more popular and sell more" is an odd question though.

Multiplat certainly means more sales, which means more revenue. In my opinion if KH3 sales would be similar to FF13.

For this to happen though it would SE choice. They got nothing but negative feedback for FF13 multiplat( by that i mean ps3 owners). It would be a test of loyalty(KH 1 &2 on ps platform). I guess well have to wait for January conference to hear on FFvXIII, if it isn't announced on xbox then it may be a safe bet KH3 would stay a playstation or quite possibly a nintendo exclusive.

I think you guys( the ones arguing about console diversity) forgot your own point of argumant relevant to the topic.

Shooters sell more on Xbox. This fact does not relate to the diversity of the xbox library.
