No surprise there, Athiests knowing the most about religions makes complete sense to me.

lol atheists scored 20.9% compared to 17.6% for protestants. Not much to brag about, we all failed.

I would love to have taken that survey though see how I did.

It's available on the Pew site (15 questions of it, anyway).

I got 14 of 15. I took a wild shot in the dark on the last question.

Ha. I did just like you. I didnt know the last question and guessed it wrong. The rest was pretty easy.

Damn I only got 9. Kinda dumb though, I don't know anything about Islam, Buddhism, etc. I got the Christianity related questions right.

Yes. Why?

Its an early Christianity heresy that denied the Trinity.

Arians didn't believe that Jesus was God and they called themselves Christians. That's why!

From the sounds of the survey, Christians were given more Christian questions, Jews more Jewish questions, etc. The online version looks like a base-level quiz only.

Well, the werent. So there is a difference. There is a line where a person doesnt get to be something just because she says she is.

If a guy who doesnt think Jesus is God says he is a Christian, he is not. he may think it, but its not true.He might be something else but he is not Christian. That is the most basic aspect of Christianity.

You dont get to be a fan of the New York Yankees and yet only cheer for the LA Lakers.

The problem for me is that how can a survey know that, be prepared for it?

I didn't do too bad,  but I missed #15 and #7. I'm really surprised how low the average is.

15 out of 15, pretty swish. But like Rocketpig I had a shot in the dark with last one, but I was lucky.

The goal of this survey was to establish whether people have knowledge regarding their own religion and other religions. I don't get the point of that bad anology you came up with.

I guess my point is different and not really about the issue. I dont like the way certain people make religion relative nowadays.

They take this "it is whatever I want it to be, and if you say otherwise you are opressing me"approach and I dont like it.

But, as you said, the survey wasnt about that, so I went a bit off-topic. Sorry.

There are a lot of religious people out there who are ignorant of their own faiths for a variety of reasons that have nothing to do with being lazy or having that approach I mentioned above.  So it would be wrong to make such affirmation about them.

Am I being clear (for some reason the question mark isnt working on my keyboard, so imagine one at the end of this phrase )
