I would not even question GT in sales.
Game User Base Total sales
GT1 20~M 10~M
GT2 70~M 10~M
GT3 15~M 14~M
GT4 100~M 10~M
If there was ever a game that was going to sell 10~M copies its, GT5. Hell a demo with 80 cars, 6 tracks, and a $39.99 price tag has sold over 5M on the worst selling PS platform to date.
Even further, GT5 now officially has NASCAR, and WRC. That can only help. The community aspect, is new territory, and it could really become big.
With GT we are talking way beyond games. This is beyond Sony, and Polyphony. GT is the car industry. GT is Autoweek, Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Detroit Auto Show, Daytona 500, Indianapolis 500, 24 hour Lemans, Top Gear, Car Manufactures, and more.
Last thing I have to say. There are way more car enthusiasts than gamers. Car shows go on year round at thousands of locations around the world, and car lovers flock to them. With every iteration of GT Polyphony reaches out to more and more of them. With the networking of GT5 the backing it already has from car clubs worldwide, and the fan base already interested in it, this game is the biggest step in racing games since GT1. GT5 has more potential than anything I have ever seen, and with the shear number of players on board, I just can not see how it can be missed.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
